Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The headliners are important to get people to the festival.
I feel like this is Bonnaroo's formula. The under card is for the people who always come to Roo. The headliners are there to draw people who usually wouldn't go to roo, so they can experience one of the greatest places on earth, and become regulars.
Sidenot: I joined up for the Lolla board today. They make Inforooers look like the friendliest people on earth.
I agree with the guys above about Lolla. I was also at the show in 07 and Daft Punk was unreal. I will never forget that pyrimad stage. Of course we went for PJ and they tore it up as always. I have also been into Muse since I saw them on the 2nd stage at Curefest many moon ago and I saw that energy and knew from that day forward they would be huge. Well their live show at lolla was sick and there last tour had to be one of the most amazing mind blowing tours around. Would love to see them at Roo and actually surprised they have not been. That overall lineup was sick(just revisited it) and what a weekend as we went back in 08 for Radiohead, NIN and Rage which was just f'n nuts. Hit ACL in 09 and that was also an amazing show.
BUT, with all of that said(I just love live music) none of those fests match Roo's all around experience. I have been to every Roo but the first one(friends backed out last minute) and although it has changed immensely it is by far the best fest around. And I agree that the Roo begins when the sun goes down as that make the fest Roo. I will say that for the 10th I did expect a few bigger names in the headliner spots, but as everyone has said it is all about the new bands and middle/under card. I love Thursday night too.
Hopeful for a few headliner surpirses still as that would help me convince my friends to join easier, but we will see ya in Manchester regardless!!
The Jimmy Buffett set back in 09 was a sweet surprise. Hot, but still sweet.
I gotta tell you, I've been to all types of festivals, and I go for BOTH the headliners and the undercard. What makes me come back...is the atmosphere, the people, the electricity. Bonnaroo captures that better than any other festival, especially over time.
I rant and complain about the lack of a bonkers act like the Rolling Stones or whoever, but its all good. Come June I'll be packing up and heading out for a great weekend.
PMA - we also tried getting tix to WSP on Monday here in Atlanta, but they completly f'd up that process and we got hosed. I was online exactly the minute they went on sale and it was sold out before it even processed. Then the tix were on the scalping sites within minutes for unreal prices. We are still pissed as my GF loves WSP and that was gonna be a sweet arsh V-day present. We will see them at Roo at least, but still bummed.
We are most likely going to see Yonder on Saturday and hopefully we can get some inside info on if they will be at roo, but from what I hear they may not be.

you could go ahead and buy tix for the august 8 -9th shows in Asheville. That is always a fun crowd. Last two times they were in the civic center they really brought it.
I love heading to ash for some good shows. I saw PJ there back in 04 and it was amazing!!
I may be going to a show here in ATL tha weekend, but I am def considering it.
Funny thing is my GF is a huge WSP fan, but I really did not get into them until I saw them headline Roo 2. Words cannot describe that set, night and overall weekend!! Been a fan ever since and glad they got the Sunday slot at Roo X as it makes sense. However, I do think they have lost some of that big headliner status as of late. They still are and do/will headline many fests, but I guess I am just spoiled living in the south.
Comon...Thorogood has some awesome blues songs. I'm hoping for some type of classic blues act. I know Gregg Allman will be there, but I'd rather have a more full on blues artist. I would love for R.L. Burnside to show up again..but I don't think he'd be able to handle the heat anymore.
The Rolling Stone article is more interesting because Crosby touches on the fact that he and Chris Hillman would be up for a Byrds reunion, but that Roger McGuinn is reluctant. And as I've pointed out, Hillman, Crosby and McGuinn all are touring around Roo and have wide open calendars that weekend.

Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
Benny Benassi? Gonna be seeing him tomorrow but I doubt I will have a chance to ask him. You think he could be at the farm? Counting Crows? Garth Brooks? Hill Top Hoods?

I hope Benny benassi is there. I'm not necessarily counting on it though. Benny or Boys Noize is all I need to be happy with the Electronic slots this year. Not sure If I'll get either one though.

Did you see them at North Coast last summer? I went to the Boys Noize late night show and saw Benny Benassi at the fest. Really enjoyed his set. I think we could see one of them at Roo.
