There is a lot of talk already about how much we want Radiohead to return, Daft Punk to finally play late night, and so forth. With Gwar this past year especially, it also seems that no one can be considered to be out of the running anymore when Superfly starts booking acts.
So I pose the question, who would make you throw up a little in your mouth if you saw them on the line-up come announcement day?

U2 would be the first on this list. If you only need one, U2.
the others: Nickelback Taylor Swift Kanye West Lil Wayne The "New" Doors Skid Row (WITHOUT Sebastian Bach) Journey (Without Steve Perry) Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians Creed (Just slightly under U2!)

I'm going to throw out bands like Nickelback here because I don't think they'd even be considered (fun fact, in the old Fuse Barn they would play music videos. They played a Nickelback one and everyone in the barn started booing simultaneously. One of my favorite Roo moments ever, they had to stop the video.)
Lady Gaga Blink 182 Akon Black Eyed Peas Paramore Dixie Chicks Eagles Taylor Swift Toby Keith Brand New
It baffles me to see people say they'd rather have Skid Row, Journey, Creed, or Nickleback than U2... To me that's insane.
I'd be more than happy with U2... they put on a good show, are relevant still, with the exception of the majority of their output the last 15 years they have a very strong catalogue of music. War, Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, Rattle and Hum, Zooropa (for the most part), Boy, Unforgettable Fire, and All That You Can't Leave Behind are all really strong records. I've never been able to understand the mass hatred. It can't be just because of "Bono's Ego", as that's about as dumb a reason as you can give.
What is it? I can never get a straight, good, understandable reason.
I just never hear a reason WHY, that's all I'm asking. Someone with a well thought out response at least help me see where you're coming from. You people make them out like they're Fall Out Boy or 3oh!3 or something.
Again, I'm not offended by anyone talking shit about them, they are FAR from a favorite of mine, I've just never thought they were this ungodly disgrace to music. Especially for a band with such a longstanding and broad fanbase, it can have such unspecific criticism or hatred. I love hearing people's opinions and reading the ones different from mine... that's why I post here all the time. In the 3 years I have been here, though, I still don't get it. It is especially harsh on U2 here, where there are some awesome musical opinions. , so where better to ask?

really not to much would affect me. i realized KoL (or any one act no matter what timeslot) shouldnt affect your whole weekend or even your decision to go. theres way too much going on to cry over one act that you dont want to see. in the past ive been opposed to u2 headlining but at this point i think i would welcome it. the joshua tree is one of my favorite albums ever and even if they only played a few songs it would make the performance for me. green day and lady gaga dont appeal to me either but i wouldnt let them ruin the lineup for me provided there was a solid undercard. if the top three names next year were U2 Green Day and Lady GaGa i would probably be very, very disappointed but still go because i know not wanting to see one or two acts is really nothing to cry about in the grand scheme of the festival.
