Honestly, I was really disappointed in 2010 VIP amenities this year.
There were a few good things: 1.) The check-in was frigging amazing. We left our campground a few miles away at 8:15 and were completely set up by 10:30.
2.) The usual - how close it was.
3.) The VIP staff was awesome. I had to go get some medical help on Friday morning and they gave me a ride over and back from the medical tent after seeing a doctor. They didn't have to give me a ride both ways. They were all very nice.
4.) The AC lounge in VIP camping was a lifesaver. I never used it last year once and this year I was in there a ton.
5.) The chairs on the hill this year held up a lot better and there were many more.
There were a lot of bad things: 1.) The bathrooms/showers were FAR filthier than last year. Worlds worse, really. Along with that, the staff (outside of one or two people) who ran them were HORRIBLE. I was told I could tip in druqs if I wanted to. They never cleaned anything outside of the aforementioned one guy. I had to complain about the Sunday services being played in the bathrooms yesterday and got an attitude about it -- not everyone wants to hear a preacher when they're sh1tting at 7 AM. Apparently on Sunday at like 5 AM they were overflowing and no one did a damn thing about it. The AC in the showers was out after the first day and it was never fixed. You'd shower and then immediately get sweaty again.
2.) The VIP tent under the which stage... holy awfulness. First, no one was checking wristbands, so there were random people in there. This meant that a) the fruit was all gone, b) WHEN the AC was working (which wasn't all the time), people were blocking the tubes, c) the chairs/couches/places to sit were few and far between and since it was so full... they were always occupied.
3.) A minor thing, but plastic wristbands? GTFO with that. C'mon. Evidently the reason they have the chips in them is that this was a test for next year and if they'd use chips in ALL wristbands. That said -- they only started scanning them at a few entrances and at random times. It was really strange. I was checked a few times going into the VIP hill... but then I'd leave and come back a few minutes later and wouldn't.
4.) the GA Portojohns right by the VIP hill were right by those "Tent City" VIP tents on the other side of the fence. I'd be FURIOUS if I paid for those tents and got to smell the waste of 75000 people all weekend. Just a HORRIBLE idea to place them there. If I paid that kind of money and then got that smell I would honestly consider suing Superfly. What a horrible mistake.
5.) Bag check on Thursday was out of control. The line from GA was faster than from VIP. I think I waited 20 minutes my first time through. After that first day, it was fine but GTFO here with that.
6.) The bugs were way worse than last year, IMHO. Just my experience.
7.) No water station in VIP.
I would also liked to have had them simulcast the Conan/World Cup matches in the VIP AC Tent -- that would have been a nice touch.
That said, I was very happy to have been in VIP when it was so oppressively hot all weekend. The AC tent and showering 5x a day definitely saved me.

overall VIP went really well for me- getting in was a breeze, security barely touched me, and the tents and lounges were great to take a nap/get away from the heat. However, the VIP lounge in the campgrounds was packed full each time i got there. some people were passed out on the floor, and others were trampling over each other just to sit in a hammock!

More like 4 AM. And they had to wait for a truck to come take care of it. I found this out at 6:30 AM. What? I have to use the bathroom a lot, I'm old.
The AC in the showers was out after the first day and it was never fixed. You'd shower and then immediately get sweaty again.
. They NEVER had AC in the showers. Ever. The trick is to use only cold water and only get half dressed.

Fruit has always been gone when I went in. And it was never cool.
3.) A minor thing, but plastic wristbands? GTFO with that. C'mon.
These never bothered me. And no one ever scanned mine. I must just look like a tool.

I totally agree. WTF was this mess? NEVER do this again Superfly. If these people can't pitch a tent, they can pay me and I will put one up for them.
6.) The bugs were way worse than last year.
Have you seen my rash? They spray, believe me.
7.) No water station in VIP.
Never was one. Should be though.
Send them an email with your concerns. There is a snow balls chance in hell they might listen. They should if they want you back.
The water station (I finally figured out) is the sink station. Water was kinda cool, but not bad. Also, props (and tips) to Chris at the portos- he was always very nice and helpful and mopped out a stall (and deodorized it!) before I went in. I thought most of the staff were great! However, there were none to be found Monday morning, esp. when the TP was running low......
They NEVER had AC in the showers. Ever. The trick is to use only cold water and only get half dressed.
I did that. I mean there ARE AC units in the showers and they definitely had it working on Thursday.
Fruit has always been gone when I went in. And it was never cool.
Last year it was definitely cool enough to be in there and not sweat and I definitely saw mountains of fruit as well. The issue isn't the missing fruit, it's the fact that just about anyone could go in there -- don't allow everyone in and the fruit doesn't go in a few minutes.
These never bothered me. And no one ever scanned mine. I must just look like a tool.
I had mine scanned 95% of the time by the other What entrance -- not the one by the main one. Also, losing the two other VIP entrances (one by the bottom of the hill to enter the hill and the other to enter the What area from VIP) really sucked.
Have you seen my rash? They spray, believe me.
I'm sure they spray, I know they do. I just found about 10,000 bugs on my tent.
Never was one. Should be though.
I must be confusing it with the hand sanitizer station they had then. Mea culpa. But they should have one.

Yup he was awesome. The rest were complete slackers and were horrible. I really couldn't believe how rude many of them were compared to last year.
1) Plenty of space 2) Thursday Party was good, loved the free beer 3) Bathrooms were nice throughout the daytime 4) It felt like there were allot more seats on the hill this go around 5) Check in was great. I liked not having to go to a different site before arriving at Bonnaroo.
Bad: 1) No longer a VIP entrance near Cafe Where. Why would they get rid of this? 2) The GA port-o-johns next to the What stage back wall were ridiculous. My tent was no where near them and I could get a whiff every now and then. I can't imagine if I was right up near that wall. 3) The showers. Sweet Jesus, they were horrible. All I got to say is, on Sunday one of the showers on the far side near the fence/road had a big 'ol Deuce in it for a number of hours. 4) Which stage VIP tent is a joke. It was hot, stinky and packed full of people who were not VIP. Why bother calling it VIP if there is nobody there to check wristbands? 5) I think it is about time they open up a food stand in the VIP for meals other than Breakfast. Even just a corn dog or pizza stand. If you wanted some food around noon it can be quite a walk to go grab something.
All in all, I had a great time. But I have to say that it felt like they cut corners all around this year when it came to budget. Especially when it came to bathrooms/port-o-johns throughout the festival.
This was my first Bonnaroo and I can honestly say I'll never do anything other than VIP. Knowing how far my friends had to walk just to get to Centerroo, how long it took them, and not having AC bathrooms made it worth my while. I was surprised at how dirty the showers got they were a mess. I tried to go around 6:30am (when I heard they were the cleanest) and they were still a mess.
I also loved the free beer on Thursday. That was awesome.

I had to complain about the security searches at the VIP Arch entrance Friday morning... but after complaining all the way up to the top guy in charge, the searches no longer ate up my time for the rest of the festival.

The shortcut from BFE through VIP was the worst smelling place I experienced on the farm. Too far away from the port o johns at the back of What. Where was it coming from?
yeah, sorry about that. it was a good idea at the time!
i dont know what ya'll are complaining about wrt the showers. they are always about that dirty and the AC is usually iffy. trick is to leave the quacking door OPEN!!! leaving it shut results in a sauna
i only found the marble toilet guy on the last day - prior to that i was going to the black trailer straight on - it was okay - clean enough, always had rolls (ha ha!)

NOOBIE LOVED VIP! From the drive in, past 20 miles of traffic, to the drive out, VIP was awesome. 1. Check-in was simple. It literally took 5 minutes. 2. VIP dinner & drinks was really good. It also gave a chance to mingle & talk to other VIPers. 3. The bathrooms I though were, all in all, pretty well maintained. 4. I loved the close proximity to Centeroo, & being able to cruise in & out. 5. The air conditioned VIP Lounge was a great place to cool, recharge, bring in lunch or dinner. ISSUES 1. The showers at the bottom of the hill were never cleaned! I only had warm water on thursday. 2. What was that cluster getting on the Which bleachers for the Flaming Lips. They really screwed that up. 3. I never found the Inforoo VIP Camp!!

This was my second year with the VIP, last year I did RV with my Dad this year my friend and I camped. Pros: 1) I met some very friendly VIPers during shows and they were awesome! I wish I could have got their names or figured out where they were staying to hang out with them. Especially this kid and his dad from NJ 2) I also thought there was more chairs on the VIP Hill 3) Thought the bathroom staff was friendly and nice and cleaned the bathrooms quickly 4) Most important!!!! VIP check in! Amazing!!!!! I left the place I was staying at 8 and got in my 9:30, pulled right to the gate got my car checked and chatted with the guys checking my car. They need to do that next year.
Cons: 1) Plastic wristbands, I hated how they felt, no one ever scanned them, I also felt like a tool wearing them 2) Did anyone else thing the security staff seemed a bit rude? especially Thursday the guy was being a total ass to some people and no answering their questions. (That just may have been how I reacted to it), and I also thought they weren't as relaxed about searching this year as they were last but once again that just may be how I felt 3) I found the showers very disgusting near the end of the week, trash was everywhere, I would have thought they could have cleaned them out at least once
minor things: 1) I was in the stands for the VIP during the Flaming Lips and they really did mess that whole thing up, they should have just sent people up and had them crawl over people to the empty spaces, instead of having everyone move to the center, that made no sense. 2) Who was the VIP party artist on Thursday? I never saw it announced but we heard it when we went to grab something from camp
That's all though, I loved VIP camping again this year! I love the friendly atmosphere
I was bitter after going vip in 07 - we waited in line to get in for 4-5 hours, the food was terrible for someone who doesn't like meat (or the lines were long and they ran out of food all together), RVs with generators parked right next to cars - and never thought I'd do it again... but I gotta say, I'm pretty sure I am going to go VIP next year. Even if it's just for one year of spoiling myself and then I go back to GA/tent only. With the ridiculous heat and being parked so far away this year, I missed so many shows I wanted to see, and I was so hot and exhausted I didn't really enjoy the ones I did see as much as I normally do. Just the guaranteed proximity, a/c lounges and bathrooms (don't care if they're dirty as long as they FLUSH) and free showers sound worth it to me at the moment. I really missed tent-only and being able to just walk back to the tent and rest for a bit before going back in. The though of being so close in VIP and having a/c available is pretty damn seductive right now! Sign me up
Now I just have to convince my boyfriend to spend the money or find someone else to split the pair of tickets with me (this means you Alisa!!)
This was my second year with the VIP, last year I did RV with my Dad this year my friend and I camped. Pros:
2) I also thought there was more chairs on the VIP Hill
There was a semi trailer down by the bathrooms that had a lot of chairs. Thanks to the young man that had enough brains to start handing them out on Friday night.
