Possibly dumb question: does the beer need to be kept in the case it came in or can I have the cans loose in my cooler?
This and other last-minute brain fodder brought to you by 28 hours until go time!!
Depends on if it's in the trunk/truck bed or in the back seat. There MIGHT be issues if it's open case in the passenger compartment.
Hmm, my friend's car is a hatchback so there's no dedicated trunk. I guess I'll wrap it up in a garbage bag in the cooler, don't want any soggy cardboard!
Ok, canned beer question. I'm coming from Florida (land of no Fat Tire) and I'm staying Wednesday night in Atlanta. I just saw that there is both a Whole Foods and a Trader Joe's within walking distance of my hotel. Florida is also the land of no Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. I see on New Belgium's site that I can get my Fat Tire fix at either spot. BUT, does anyone know if they carry cans???

It doesn't have to be kept in the case. In fact, I'd suggest taking it out of the case to avoid soggy cardboard mess, and to maximize space in your cooler. To violate an open container law, they mean the container the alcohol is in, not the carrying case.

Did my beer shopping last night, always the best part of preparing. Guinness for my morning beer. Modus Hoperandi, Dale's, Shiner and Bud in some all American flag cans, for patriot reasons.

The Wal-mart in Manchester carries Fat Tire in cans. They also had the shift.

Not sure if all of these have been mentioned but we stopped at a Liquor Barn near Louisville KY and picked up Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Stella tall boys, Summer Shandy and Blue Moon all in cans. They also had Fat Tire in cans but we had to much beer as it was. "Good beer" is kind of subjective, but it was all delicious.

It has been a bit spotty, but I have been seeing more Brooklyn in a can. I hope by next year I can easily find the pils and the lager so I can transport it to TN.
