Well, I was a HUGE advocate of Microcastle when it came out and I still love it, so I would say the new one, while one of the best records of the year, isn't quite as good as Microcastle.
As far as The Wild Hunt, it's a great record, but I just don't know that I'd call it the best album of 2010. Then again, I don't know what does deserve that title. There have been a lot of great records released this year, but not one phenomenal album that stands alone as an easy choice for record of the year. For me personally, This Is Happening stands out, but at the same time, I realize that isn't the consensus.

Paul Cary - A Ghost of a Man
Really cool garage rock album from this year I just started listening to. It's really short, so I promise I won't waste too much of your time. PM if you need a link.

I needed to refresh my memory now that we're entering fall, so here's my top 20. I know there are some gems that I just haven't heard yet.
The Black Keys - Brothers Arcade Fire - The Suburbs The Tallest Man On Earth - The Wild Hunt LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening The Whigs - In The Dark Phosphorescent - Here's To Taking It Easy Joe Pug - Messenger Dr. Dog - Shame, Shame Josh Ritter - So Runs The World Away Deer Tick - The Black Dirt Sessions Everest - On Approach Neil Young - Le Noise Dark Night Of The Soul Local Natives - Gorilla Manor Jakob Dylan - Women + Country Spoon - Transference Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers - Mojo Grinderman - Grinderman II The Hold Steady - Heaven Is Whenever Galactic - Ya Ka May
LOL. That one's gonna require some explanation, NoD. If Halcyon Digest is their On the Beach, does that make Microcastle their Harvest and Cryptograms their Everybody Knows This is Nowhere? I'm confused
I personally was pretty floored by Microcastle when I first heard it. It just clicked with me for whatever reason. I personally give the slight nod to Microcastle. As far as Neil, I'd go with After the Gold Rush as Neil's best. Although, On the Beach does definitely rule; it's in my Top 5 Neil albums, and possibly Top 3.
In the same vein of that Paul Cary record (sort of), did anyone ever hear Gentleman Jesse's debut from 2007? I liked that record a lot. Seriously underrated garage pop-rock. Reminds me of early Elvis Costello at times.
So if you guys haven't heard of Teebs yet, I suggest you go check him out. He's on the Brainfeeder label with Flylo and his debut, Ardour, is amazing. About on the same level as Cosmogramma.
"Seconds Late For The Brighton Line" by The Legendary Pink Dots "Sir Luscious Left Foot..." by Big Boi "Swim" by Caribou "Small Craft On Milk Sea" by Brian Eno "Cizana De Los Amores" by Omar Rodriguez-Lopez
Those are the standout five, at this moment in time.
