Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
Remember that year when media outlets told us we were getting Paul Simon and stuff? When was that?
That was Livedaily (owned by Live Nation/Ticketmaster, a subsidiary of the Sheinhardt Wig Company) and that was leaked a week and a half before the lineup dropped.

Yeah, well, I'm not going to get my hopes up. UM is one of my favorite bands and I've already been devastated by too many missing bands.

Is this a reliable source? Can the original poster find some way to verify with the editor possibly? Either a verification or "no comment" would really substantiate this.
If this is true, the second round announcement is looking good.

A couple things that scream BS to me: the fact that the date is not attached to the specific article AND there's no mention of Mantis. Bottom Half is used as the album art? Hmm idk guys....

The article says the date "Friday April 23rd". In 2010, april 23rd IS on a Friday. The last Friday April 23rd was in 2004. Bottom half came out in 2007.

Whew, ok...thanks for doing more research than I did lol. It was just weird they wouldn't mention Mantis.
I've just been so skeptical after being burned with Neil Young, etc...I really hope this is true...for me, this would make the lineup as good as any other year...Umphs is THAT good. I've never seen them put on a bad show, even when they were slightly off. And when they're on....straight fire!

I tried to do a lot of googling. Looking up a lot of stuff but couldn't find much. Then it seemed clear that the article mentions Friday April 23rd and I just went on my computer's calendar and started going back to see if there were other April 23rds. I think this guy's legit. I just hope what he was told would be true so he doesn't get people's hopes up for nothing.

This seems legitimate and would fill out the lineup nicely. I saw them in 2008 but I would like to see a longer show, a late night set would be amazing.

I remember hearing them in 08 before Claypool and I loved what I heard and saw....a band playing its heart out and a small gathering of die-hard fans! I was surprised they were playing so early and I was disappointed that such of such a small turnout for what was an awesome performance.

I noticed at Wanee last year that they've started to use microphones onstage that only the other band members can hear through their earpieces. I guess they use these to let each other know what improvisational thing is coming next. They are probably the tightest jam band playing.

Guess it got too complex for the hand signals. I say we should have the Lips play DSOTM, Claypool play Animals, Waters play The Wall, and then let Umphrey's play Wish You Were Here for one of their late night sets. That sounds like a pretty floydtastic weekend to me.
Edit: And for people who have only seen their 08' Roo show, it gets better. I'd say it is pretty widely agreed between hardcore fans that that was a pretty sloppy show. Sloppy by Umph's standard was still a kickass time, though. Always love some WBG.
