Yeah, the faux-hipsters really went nuts for them after they had a couple songs on "Gossip Girl" and that one jam used in the Cadillac commercial. Every 19 year old clown with shaggy hair, a headband that is used to push their hair over their face, and fake, neon-colored Wayfarers will be at that one.
I'm going to make a group called "People Who Know Phoenix Have An Album Called 'United' United" so we can watch out for each other.
Why do people care how or why someone likes a band? All that matters is that people enjoy the music. I have never understood that elitist attitude toward "hipsters". Music "purists" should be the first to realize that.

Ha! It was a joke just so I could say the "'United' United" thing! I personally don't care.
Edit: Although if your idea of "enjoying music" is talking through it at a show, I do care about that. That's annoying.

Ha, yeah, that drives me nuts too. Another benefit of LOUD live music, lol.
Yeah, I need to check out their older stuff, is that the one you'd recommend?
United is their debut that came out in 2000 and it's really fantastic as is their 2006 album, It's Never Been Like That. I don't think you could go wrong with whichever one of those you start with. Their 2004 sophomore disc Alphabetical is a bit of a "slump", but still worth a listen. I'm a big fan of the first track on it, "Everything Is Everything".

I've also got kind of an issue with people loudly singing along during a show. Sure, it's awesome if everyone shouts something in unison once in a while (e.g. "Oh yeah" during Fluffhead), but damn do I hate it when the people in front of me are singing literally EVERY lyric to EVERY song during a concert. This is why I don't care much for DMB shows.

Because it's really irritating when people decide to like a band because that band fits a certain image of how that person wants to be. "Hipsters" are called such because they tend to buy in to trends that make them feel exclusive, which as a result makes them very non-exclusive. It's annoying to go to a show of a band you really like to have it overrun by faux-fans who are only really there because they think this is a band they're supposed to like, due to the classification they've placed on themself.
Frankly, this can just all be changed to talk about fans of jam bands.
Where are all the leaks this year...they really were pretty tight lipped about the lineup! Last year we had a bunch of leaks and pretty much an accurate line up days before the actual line up was released....this year must be STELLAR!!!
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

so to me it seems like Bonnaroo told all bands they can release info whenever they want during the day......but I'm guessing Roo will release a full lineup at 12 just to get all the names out there. we'll see.

Haha had to make an account to get in on some of the fun. Only going to my 8am class. The lineup today will have me missing all others haha. As long as it's a good lineup (which I doubt roo could let us down) I'll be there. 2 time roth-er here will be my first roo.
I'm dieing to see this lineup. After the sadness which was cancellation of Rothbury, I will be attending Roo for the first time. I'm hoping for some CHEESE please!
the phoenix show was amazing last year ... they really jammed out way more than i expected, especially given that they had such a short time
yay i'm glad they'll be back!
onion - alphabetical was the first album i had of theirs and i was hooked, so it might not be everyone's fave but i loved it...my husband prefers it's never been like that, so it's a win/win:)
