Phoenix was one of those bands that I really wanted to be there again, but really didn't expect them to be... needless to say, I am very excited about it.

Can we sticky this thread, so that it doesn't get lost when all the new users who join as bands are announced make hundreds threads with titles like "OKFG PHOENIXX RULEZ!!!!1" and "Weezer sucks bring back PANIC!"?
I'm here all day. Gonna keep it updated, as it starts leaking in.
My best friend's a huge Weezer fan and had wanted to do Rothbury this year instead of Roo for something different and was sad it was cancelled. He's going to be so thrilled to see they're going to be here.

Well it looks like I'm going to have to change the working title for the Panic thread I plan on unleashing
6/18: Phish in Hartford 6/25: Phish in Camden 7/2-7/4: Nateva 7/17: God Street Wine at Irving Plaza 7/23-7/25: String Cheese at Red Rocks!! 8/17-8/18: Phish at Jones Beach 9/3: Rush at PNC

Will the OP be updated so we don't have to sift through everyone's comments to figure out the lineup? I'm going to have to update myself via iPhone all day, and when I browse this site it's always the homepage address so it's hard to refresh.
Yeah, the faux-hipsters really went nuts for them after they had a couple songs on "Gossip Girl" and that one jam used in the Cadillac commercial. Every 19 year old clown with shaggy hair, a headband that is used to push their hair over their face, and fake, neon-colored Wayfarers will be at that one.
I can always depend on you to say what Im thinking.

Yup. I'm here all day. I was also wonderin about an Artist Directory, like last year. That may help on duplicate threads.

I'm going to make a group called "People Who Know Phoenix Have An Album Called 'United' United" so we can watch out for each other.

Yeah, I need to check out their older stuff, is that the one you'd recommend?

Updating the OP is a good idea- thanks garageland.

United is their debut that came out in 2000 and it's really fantastic as is their 2006 album, It's Never Been Like That. I don't think you could go wrong with whichever one of those you start with. Their 2004 sophomore disc Alphabetical is a bit of a "slump", but still worth a listen. I'm a big fan of the first track on it, "Everything Is Everything".
I was excited about Phoenix last year only because I was so thankful there was something else to do during Phish...it was a fun show, though. This year, I'm sure their tent will be packed with dickholes...kind of like the digression of the MGMT show from '08 to '09.
