I got convinced to go to Bamajam last year and that was where I got most of my country education. That was one hell of a festival by the way....country and jam bands pretty cool.
But some of the top picks from last year is for sure Charlie Daniels band, I was so surprised, they rocked and jammed with tons of energy. They had some 15 minute long instrumentals. It was insanely amazing. They would fit right in at roo.
Also my fav of all time is Shooter Jennings, that guy seriously is incredible. He rocks out like no bodies business. Their organ player was nuts, he stands while he plays and after every song he's 5 feet from where he started because he hits the keys (and jumps on the keyboard) so hard.
Jamey Johnson is a relatively new guy with some classic country sound, he's pretty bad ass.
What you got back home, little sister, to play your fuzzy warbles on? I bet you got little save pitiful, portable picnic players. Come with uncle and hear all proper! Hear angel trumpets and devil trombones. You are invited.
