If you're on Lala.com, you know it's just about the best thing to happen between the Internet and music since Napster. If you're not on it, prepare to experience one of the best things to happen between the Internet and music since Napster.
I was interested in starting a thread to see who else was on the site currently, so we can connect, follow one another, share recs and so forth.

Seriously? None of my fellow audio connoisseurs on Inforoo use lala.com, unequivocally THE best music streaming site? Listen up...
The site has an unbelievably deep and comprehensive collection. More than once I've found an album on there that I haven't been able to find anywhere else, on or off the webs.
Most of the time they have new releases streaming the day of.
The layout and controls are incredibly nice and easy to use.
The site is integrated into many other sites (you can share songs, albums and playlists on Twitter, Facebook, etc.).
You can connect with friends and other music geeks to see what people are listening to.
Free to sign up.
Listen to anything once, buy the mp3 if you like, usually for cheaper than iTunes.
You can add your own digital library to your profile on the site, so that you can listen to the music you own anytime anywhere on any computer.
Sorry if I sound like a fanatic, I just love the site, and I can't understand why more people aren't using it by now. Give it a try, will ya?

Oh yeah, sometimes it's missing things it should have. It's not a cure-all-- sometimes I still need to stalk the blogs or head to What, but at least 70% of the time they've got what I'm looking for.

I had been using Last FM until recently. I just joined though. Does this track the music you listen to on your computer like Last FM does? I don't really get how it works....
The more I explore this site, the more I realize what all it has to offer, the more I'm blown away. My only complaint is that they need more ways to earn song credits.
Easily one of my favorite sites on the net. It's allowed me to check out a lot of different records that are on all those "best albums ever" lists. Also good for checking out new artists. And the ability to upload your iTunes library is pretty sweet

'Lala unavailable internationally Unfortunately, Lala is currently only available to people in the US. We are working feverishly to expand internationally, so please stay tuned.'
This is the first thing I thought of when I heard lala was shutting down. I've been following lala's purchase by Apple and it is gonna be a game changer when Apple releases it's online store under lala's format. The only question is, how much per month will we have to pay to have access to our music anywhere we go? Hopefully we find out in June.
