I tried to get that local natives and my local record store won't have it until the release date? How is everyone getting it early?
? I dunno. The guy I go to posted it as being available Friday and held it for me. This is the same guy who gives me RSD stuff early, and I just think he doesn't have a concept of release dates.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Good Records in Dallas usually has the new releases available the Friday before the release date. They say its not as big of an issue now with all the downloading taking place.

Was at Amoeba in hollywood today and saw that Local Natives is performing free in-store for their release on Tuesday. If I had to guess, I'd say you all would support me going down there to check it out!
Anyways, here is today's haul. I treated myself after working a shit ton of overtime last week:

So I ordered it and just called the company and its on back order. I have a feeling Im gonna get boof'd.
Had that happen to me on a Portugal. The Man album. I ordered "Waiter You Vultures" from their official site and then got an e-mail every 3 days saying it was on back order and would be in stock in two weeks. After a week or so of e-mails like that I contacted them and got a form response eventually followed by a "Your order was canceled. This is not in stock and may not be anytime soon." Sadly....it's still up for sale on their site...so people will be duped like I was.

I just ordered it off Amazon.
I would totally do that, if it wasnt 52$ + S/H... Im just not prepared to spend that kind of dough on a record like that. I'd have MANY other discs that I would spend that kind of cash on though, and I would hate to look at that one every time in my head saying "This could have been Saucerful or Bleach"
If you tell me what you want when the time comes, I may be able to get some of it for you.
thats awesome! we can figure the prices out early and I can shoot you the $ either PayPal or snail mail, whatever works.
This would be glorious, thank you so much for offering!
No problem. I don't know how much the little store I go to will get, but he sends me the list ahead of time and will order whatever I ask for and hold it. The stores don't get everything they ask for, so no guarantees until the shipment comes. But I also hit up Square Records and sometimes a few other stores.

So I picked up my Local Natives LP today from my local shop and asked about the Massive Attack I ordered (Mezzanine) and they said "oh, yeah it's not happening. The only supplier we have who has it, has it listed at $275". Wow. So I checked eBay and found it for 55 and 85 (ish?). Quickly realizing that since my taste in music has changed, my idea of the cost of a record has to as well. Jeez.
so I keep looking online and in the few stores I visit Battles-ep B/C or just B or C I dont think it ever got pressed the tras 12" is a want but ep B/C is a need

My GF grabbed Jim James on vinyl over the weekend for my bday, and as expected it sounds amazing. His performance on Fallon last night was great, can't wait to see him on tour
