I picked one up on RSD and like having all my RTJ albums stored in it. The metal is a little thin, though. Seems like it could easily dent or bend.
That sucks! Is there decent room inside? Like for maybe Meow the Jewels? Lol
I haven’t gotten to see it in person anywhere yet. I don’t think my record store received a copy.
I'll have to double check when I get home. I know I was able to fit another thing in there besides the studio albums but that may have been the single LP they released a little while ago. I think Meow the Jewels was maybe too big but I'll check.
I'd like your guys's advice on something. My sister got me a Crosley CR8005 that she won in a giveaway as well as two records as a gift recently. After turning it on, I noticed that the speakers on the player were very quiet and the quality wasn't as good as I expected it to be. I've also read that it can also be quite damaging to vinyl. So, I suppose I'm in the market for a new turntable! What are your guys's recommendations for setups (record players, speakers, etc.)? I'm not looking to spend $1000 or anything right now, but I'm also looking for something that's higher quality than the Cruiser. I'm very new to this, so it's all a bit exciting and confusing lol.

I recommend the U-Turn Audio or LP-120. Both are excellent record players for a good deal in price. I love the U-Turn Audio. They are made in Boston, if I’m not mistaken, and can be bundled with an amp on their website. You would just need speakers.

I’m an AT LP120 guy myself. The LP60 is probably the cheapest record player out there that isn’t junk, but I think springing for the 120 is worth it so you have the option to upgrade the cartridge down the road. It has a built in preamp but you’ll still need a receiver and speakers which you can probably find something on Craigslist cheap to get you started if you don’t want to buy new.
If you are willing to go used though, check out the Technics sl1200mk2. I think they run about $400 on eBay. They are the legendary dj turntable, built to stand up to abuse in clubs, so in your home they'll last a million years.
Then a cheap receiver and whatever speakers you want. If you want powered speakers check out the jbl lsr305, they are inexpensive and outstanding.
Run For Cover Records just put a bunch of test presses up on their Ebay page. They are home to folks like Sandy Alex G, Nicole Dollanger, and Modern Baseball so could interest some folks around here. Their Facebook announcement said there was more to come as well.
So I have a pretty small record collection. I've only been collecting for a few years and I don't spend a lot on records. I have a rule where I pretty much never pay more than $15 for an album and I've done pretty well. I pick up random used records and I find some occasional deals on new ones. So here's my problem, the record store I normally go to usually only has 1-2 things that I want whenever I go in. Lately they've been posting all kinds of good used stuff that's come in. Help me have the strength to not go spend money that I don't have. I keep looking at their facebook page and having bad thoughts.
I mean someone sold their entire Mastodon collection and Pantera, Metallica, Clutch, Down.
Zeppelin, Sabbath, Rush, Jimi
They have fucking Animals and Meddle!
A few days ago it looked like someone sold their entire hip hop collection and I want all of it
