Very nice, Zapp.
I've been staying away from the record store for a few weeks to try and avoid spending money in ridiculous fashion. My office might shut down early in advance of SNOWMAGGEDON 2K13 though, and if that happens I might have to stop on my way home and pick up some new sh*t to listen to while I get snowed in and drink bourbon.

Tuesday I am going to a coworkers house to buy a lot of vinyl off of her. She's a lady in her 60's, and says it is jazz, Motown, RB etc. I'm pretty excited. Not sure how much to offer. Sounds like there are dozens upon dozens of albums in her basement.

Holy shiz balls. Picked up that lot of albums today. Over 230 R&B, jazz, soul and funk classics. The Temptations, The O'Jays, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder etc etc etc. They have been loved and listened to, as the covers range from being in great shape to taped up with surgical tape. We are going to go through them this weekend. Too bad Whoreshack is going to be Pope, cause this here is baby makin' music.

Abbey Road is legitimately one of my favorite albums, but I'd feel such a turdfarmer buying it on vinyl it's become the only Beatles LP I don't own.
Actually, I didn't listen much Beatles growing up and the first time I heard Abbey Road in it's entirety was in the middle of the night driving home from Bonnaroo '03.

surfbumdj be careful examining your box set. Apparently they went REALLY cheap with the box set pressing. I've read a ton of reviews where people received a subpar set, so just make sure yours is in good shape. For the price of the set anything less than excellent sound is unnaceptable. I'm hoping they sort the issue out for the Mono set when it's released.

Thanks for the heads up, but I already bought the thing, and vinyl is non returnable at the store I go to, and I already opened it so... lol
but it sounds great.
It was a bit impulsive, but I really like having all the records in one place, all perfect recordings, and now I can move on to the Rolling Stones collection. I have all the Beatles, but not all of them sound that good. Plus, my White Album is a special one. Numbered really low (under 100,000) and I have all the original inserts (pictures, and poster). Pretty proud of that one.
If anyone was thinking about getting the new Beatles box set I highly recommend getting it. They way they remixed and remastered the tracks, it sounds OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING. Seriously. Even if you just pick up your favorite Beatles record, its worth having an extra copy in this format.
Holy Shiz. It is like hearing my favorite songs for the first time again. Seriously.

LOL - I got a new record player and decided to grab an album at random as the test record just now. Somehow inappropriate and perfect at the same time, I think.

I actually just picked this up a few weeks ago. I have a weird thing for "Photograph".

Who else does a big vinyl purchase after the lineup release? Just ordered Lord Huron, The Stepkids, The Sheepdogs, Tallest Man on Earth and several others.
