I don't know if anyone else got it, but that Popmarket deal for the White Stripes was great. 180 gram copies of the Stripes' first three studio albums and the Under Northern Lights live album for like 55 bucks total, with free shipping.
They've actually got some really good deals on there. I'm intrigued by the Kings of Leon bundle. It's the first three KoL albums (you know, the ones that are good) as double LPs, plus a fourth album consisting of rarities and live cuts from the early 2000s.

I saw that White Stripes deal and would have been all over it if I didn't already have the first album and UGWNL already. I was missing the other two albums but can get them for about $40 from TMR. Great deal though.
I was also intrigued by the Kings of Leon bundle. Those three albums are pretty solid. I used to really love listening to them.

Yeah, I don't have any of those albums on vinyl so it was perfect for me. The White Stripes are one of the few "I need to own everything in their discography" bands out there for me, so this was a godsend.
And in the wake of their last few albums, it's been easy to forget how much I loved Kings of Leon. Their first three albums all got heavy play from me. I honestly can't think of another band like them - they've gone down the tube in a way that I've never seen.

Totally. I was a big fan of those 3. I remember being absolutely blown away by their Roo performance of Trani. Damn....you got me all nostalgic for old KOL. That was some good shiz.

Perhaps now that they are all married, they will get fat and happy. They won't fit in those skinny jeans that cut off circulation to the brain, and will make some good music again.

I'm not holding my breath.
They were wearing skinny jeans when they made good music, too.
I actually have some hope for them. Fingers crossed that they hit a commercial backlash at some point soon, and wind up making a "return to the roots" type move in the near-ish future. Because this isn't a band that has no value; their first three albums show that much, at least. They just saw an avenue for pop success and ran with it.
Of course, I've been saying the same thing about John Mayer for years. I assumed that after he'd made his millions with pandering pop-schlock he'd get down to making some serious blues-rock (as is his oft quoted passion), yet here we are.

Yea, I know what you mean with Mayer. I feel like since the moment I heard the John Mayer Trio live album that I would be seeing a more guitar/blues-focused artist by now. I know he's had some setbacks with vocals but I'd rather see him tearing shiz up. Not continuing to write pop/radio songs.
He was amazing at the Love for Levon show. Such a great guitarist.
I picked up a 7" yesterday in which one side had Titus Andronicus' "In a Big City" and the other had a new Ceremony song "Everything Burns". I was pretty happy to get my hands on something novel like that.

Okay guys.....so I have like 5 or 6 picture discs for MMJ (got them during the Terminal 5 run). I want to display them (already have the regular vinyls) but do not feel like doing 6 individual frames. I'd rather try and group them together somehow. I think they are too big to put all of them in one frame but I was thinking about combinations may work (2 per frame maybe).
Anyway...you guys have any ideas? I have one of them in a basic record frame but I wasn't sure if I wanted to do that for all of them. You guys have any suggestions

So I finally got the Blu - Lemonade 7" I was waiting for. I was afraid that the post office lost it in transite or something else, but luckily it landed on my lap yesterday. Normally I wouldn't be too worried about shipping times, but it had been over a month since they said they'd send them. The cover is a nice homage to the famous Andy Warhol x Velvet Underground album cover though, and it's overall just a nice record.

Holy Other- Held Nigeria 70- Lagos Jump Jens Lekman- I Know What Love Isn't Caribou- Andorra Bee Mask- When We Were Eating Unripe Pears Four Tet- Jupiters/ Ocoras
That's a few weeks worth of stuff. That Bee Mask record is seriously gorgeous, candy apple green vinyl, in a black sleeve. Editions Mego makes some great stuff.
Found an old box from high school, filled with vinyl. Mother lode.
While testing to see if they are still playable, I pulled out the Hard Day's Night sleeve and found it contained another sleeve filled with this:
It's apparently the most counterfeited LP in history, though, so I doubt this one is an original. It's still 40 years old though - I have good BEATLES karma today.
I took my kids to a christmas party yesterday and had to roll through a little town called DeLand. I knew there were 2 record stores there, so I wanted to stop and browse for a little bit. The kids wanted to go into a little trading card game lair to look at Magic and Pokemon cards. Next door there was a collectable shop with a couple crates of records and some comics out on the street to draw people in. I looked through the bins outside and it was all old jazz and big band stuff that I don't go for in my collection. There was a sign on one of the crates written in ball point pen that said "lots more inside". So I went in and....JACKPOT!
I didn't have enough cash on me (and I refuse to bust out plastic for records (and honestly I doubt he had a CC machine anyways).
For $25 I got:
Metallica Kill em All on Megaforce Blonde on Blonde Tangerine Dream - Encore a 2 LP live record thats pretty good Songs in the Key of Live Interpol. - Turn on the Bright Lights Goodbye Yellow Brick Rd Moody Blues: -Every good boy Deserves Favour - Search for the inner Chord -Days of future passed A Christmas album with a bunch of artists I like including Paul McCartney Stray Cats - Built for Speed Tom Waits - Foreign Affairs
Yes, all for $25 total. I only went through about 5 crates, and there were more than 40 there. I just couldn't spend more money and I had to pass on some Smiths, Beatles, Stones, gosh I can't even remember it all.
