You know, say what you will about Nirvana, but I wasn't a music fan until I discovered them. Can't say I listen to them a whole lot these days, but if it wasn't for that first time I heard all of Nevermind in middle school, I don't think I would have the musical tastes I do today.
i was working in my dad's store and it came on the radio (wbru for you RI/MA folks). i immediately called some friends and was in shock.
sort of remember it like it was yesterday. very shocking. bummed i never got to see nirvana.
i bought that scrapbook a few years ago, called cobain? i think. got halfway into it and then felt weird about reading it... so i stopped. might pick it up again.
4/8/94 Wallace civic center fitchburg MA, was where i was when i found out. PHIL Anselmo of pantera tells the crowd just before pantera go on that they just found kurt's body. one of the most surreal momments of my life

nirvana was the cause of me switching from country to rock.... in the mid 90s (after he was already dead) i was a huge fan, though nowadays the only time i ever really listen to them is when it comes up on guitar hero or rock band
