Taking this post from the original VIP thread to get this started...
Okay, this is really long, but hopefully helpful. There is not alot of affordable, specifically Alice in Wonderland decorative merchandise out there, so taking what there is and turning it into something else seems like a cheaper way to go. Everyone please add suggestions and/or comments and then maybe we can get a master list going and split it up if people want. Here goes:
<snippers> pink flamingos - It would be great if we had a couple stuffed hedgehogs to go with the flamingos, but I haven't seen those anywhere. <end snippers>
Hi this is my second post ever but I just read about your awesome camp and I wanted to give you an idea for hedgehogs that are fun to pet!
Zygopsyche on etsy.com sells wild, furry stuffed rabbits and guinea pigs. I bought a zombie bunny from the shop and it's so wonderful, especially for petting/stroking. Here's the link: www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5370664
I would post a pic but since they're not mine....
I hope the guinea pig would work but Zygo may take custom orders.

^^ those things are trippy looking, my gal loves bunnies.
I have a car battery charger but it has to be plugged in to charge, I can power it up once but if we need more than one charge over the weekend then we will have to nominate a ninja to find another source.

That should do it. I'll see if I can score one, too and then we should have plenty of charge capabilities. Is anyone else going to bring an inverter of any sort? It's not essential, but if we had another power station or two we could power all the lights and anything else we want without having wires running all over the place and injuring people.

That sounds cool. If you have any other ideas for decor, please feel free to post them.
So according to the latest roll call figures, we will have 38 people and 21 spots! Yowsa! We are going to need to get there as early as possible to secure that many spots, but I think we can do it. Right?

^we can do it as long as we meet near the school or wherever it may be before we go in. It will be more difficult to claim spots for people who are not there, my guess is that out of 38 folks only half will be able to meet at once. Hopefully we are able to get a claimed spot, I remember someone (idioteque?) said he sent a email to ask them if we could get a designated place, I sent one too but only got an automated response.
If we have a meet up spot and cars start piling up. It will be difficult to wait on anymore people, especially if gates are already open.
I think meeting at the school (or wherever we have to pick up wristbands and parking decals) makes the most sense. It saves us the hassle of having to go to a second spot and will likely cut down on time wasted at Food Lion (guilty!).
It would be nice to roll in earlier than we did last year. Viciouscircle just about passed out from heatstroke trying to get camp set up in that mid-afternoon sun. I didn't fare so well, either. I'll plan to save a spot for my family who isn't arriving until later and coordinate with the rest of our large group to make sure spots are saved for others who can't drive in with us that morning. We should be okay.

yeah, I think we should meet at the high school, assuming that's where they do check in. I think if we are there when they open check in, we should be all right. I think we can get away with saving a few spaces without to much trouble, but we will need more than half of the people to be able to pull it off. Is there anyone who will be unable to make it by, say, 9:30?
The school was a breeze...we were in and out in less than half an hour and we weren't particularly early. We and several of our friends are spending the night in Tullahoma, so we're conveniently close.
That's really a GREAT idea...with less than 10 cars last year, we had to scramble to stay together on that main road before getting to the VIP turnoff. I'm sure people in line would be cool with letting us cut and stay together, especially if we appear organized. Too bad cars don't have antennas anymore, we could make little styrofoam mushrooms to stick on them, LOL.

Now I want bicuits and gravy. Immediately.
I think the hardest part about keeping together last year was that left turn after coming out of the parking lot. Do we have to make any left turns from the school to Roo? And does anyone know what the traffic is like coming from Tullahoma Thursday morning? How much time should we allot to get there by nine?
The school is in Tullahoma, so there shouldn't be any traffic. Also, the turn out of the parking lot is a right turn. We'll be coming directly from the school, so we'll be at an intersection with a light (in between the NO NO WORD!!!! store and Food Lion) which should make it easier.
edit: the school's not in Tullahoma, it's in Manchester. I made my coffee way too strong this morning.
I've been thinking of how to make them like a Japanese sensu. I'll have to play around with it a bit to get it right, as the cards will have to be connected (I've got some ideas for that), but I've got plenty of time to work it out.
