I really think its gonna happen after what happened last year, would be really surprised if they don't get added at some point. Or maybe i just really want it to happen, fingers crossed

I'm going to be really sad and disappointed if ABB is not there. After having to miss them at my favorite place in the world last year, i don't think i can go another year! please roo gods make this happen!!!! throw in the dead also, getting to see them at state college last oct. was a blast and i have been dreaming of seeing both ABB and the dead at roo since then. please make this all happen! ;D

ABB just added some more tour dates. They have a couple shows with the Doobie Brothers in May, then Mountain Jam, then Wannee Festival the first week in June, then nothing.
I think the reason we are waiting soooo damn long for additions is because we are still waiting for the Beacon run to be over, or at least near its conclusion. They still have 8 shows to go, running through the 28th. I expect them to get added around then.
I think that ABB has got to be one of the big additions. I thought they would would be on the original lineup for sure because they cancelled last year, but since thats not the case im looking for them to be added late
THIS would TOTALLY make up for last year, which is what they said right - that they'd be on the farm as soon as they could!?!??? It would be sweet for them to say "big announcement" like last year and redeem with ABB!!!! Let's all think about this A LOT!!!!! Make it happen ROO!!!
i think we will get the first round of additions next week. mostly made up of the artists that have already leaked. i bet we don't get allman brothers had till a few weeks later. but i do believe it is coming. i will be disappointed if it doesn't happen. and they have to give them a special time slot where they get 2 hr. or more.
There's the link for an article. SO - did they cancel Wanee last year after this was in the news? If so, and they're doing Wanee this year - right? - I'd say it's an excellent chance guys!!!!

I've never seen the Allmans and would absolutely love to hear them play at Roo 09. Not sure if we're gonna see adds at the headliner level but after Neil Young they'd be at the top of my list.
Everyone keeps assuming that they are headliner level.......and while I agree based on talent, the last two times they were scheduled for Roo they most certainly were not headliners. They pre-headlined in '05 and in '08 they weren't planned on being headliners. It's definitely possible they could get added
mule is headling mountain jam which is warren's festival and the brothers are playing there and it was being advertised as the only festival appearance

Allman Brothers on Friday afternoon in 2005 is still one of favorite Bonnaroo sets ever. I would love for them to be back this year. I think there is a pretty good chance.
let me say that i am super excited bout the Allmans gettin added...only seen them once before, but I just know seeing them at Bonnaroo would be 20x better.....if they skip out on the festival again this year...i would be really pissed.

I am going to be very disappointed if the Bros aren't added. The music they have been making during their Beacon residency the past few weeks has been absolutely incredible. Even without all the special guests (Levon Helm, Taj Mahal, Trey, Page, Buddy Guy, Boz Scaggs, Robert Randolph, Stanley Clarke, Eric Clapton and Bruce Hornsby, to name about half) the band sounds truly amazing. Elizabeth Reed seems to get better every time I hear it with another guest. I really hope their name is on the list come Wednesday.

Well allegedly the show on Thursday the 26th will not have any guests since that is the actual date of their 40th anniversary so I'll be interested to hear what happens then. They have repeated a lot of songs throughout the ten nights so far, sometimes with guest artists and some without. I've just really been impressed with how tight the band sounds, even by themselves.
lol I just caught the Family Guy last night where Peter acts like he is in high school, and he has a poster of the Allman Bros., and he says something like "Gregg Allman, how did you get through all of your problems?" And Gregg Allman says "Well, I did alot of NO NO WORD!!!! and married a girl named Cher. And I wouldn't reccommend either."
I met the band over the summer and I asked Butch and Derek Trucks specifically about Bonnaroo. They said that they felt really bad about canceling last year and wanted to make it for it this year. At that point they hadn't finalized any schedules, but they told me that being at Bonnaroo this year was a top priority as they canceled last year and might be retiring or going on an at least two year hiatus at the end of this tour.
