I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."
Yeah, there's a nice little pancake mix package that comes in a yellow container. You just add water into it and shake it while in the container, VERY delic.
For those Peanut Butter and Jelly enthusiasts, I read somewhere else on this forum that you can put a thin layer of butter on the jelly side (before you put on jelly) and it'll prevent the jelly from being absorbed into the bread.
We did our shopping at like 5 am after a 40 hour bus ride, so we spaced out and bought mix that called for milk (for obvious reasons, we did not bring milk ). Luckily, the pancakes turned out just fine with water.
One thing I would suggest is not bringing eggs unless you plan on cooking them soon. I think we ended up just throwing them at each other on Sunday. Hard boiled eggs would work well, but we didn't have the time or the means to boil them before heading to the festival.
One of the chicks in my yearly group always makes us chicken/cheese quesadillas for dinner at least one night, and they are the bomb diggity every single time...

we had a weber grill that we used for breakfast every morning and our eggs lasted fine. cooked them in a cast iron skillet with sausage patties, so good. im making burritos this year and bringing a stockpile!
I've never cooked at camp, I usually just eat non-perishable things or eat in Centeroo...but after I had a GREAT breakfast in the campsites last year...that may change. These recipes sound great! Keep posting them!
Reading this thread makes me want burritos and margaritas.
Roo food last year consisted of tabbouleh, rice cakes, hummus, and pita bread. We also had some Luna bars. I just never eat much. It's too damn hot! I took pita bread, turkey luncheon meat, and hummus to Mulberry Mountain and it was wonderful! Healthy and filling!
I think I'm going to get a battery powered blender to take to Wakarusa so I can make frozen margaritas. Tequila is muy bueno.
We have friends who talked about co2 infused fruit and sex. That way you can combine two threads. She liked the fizzing of the fruit, he got a nutritious doubly tasty snack whilst working.

hmm that sounds pretty interesting...but maybe at home...not at the roo for me!
Veggie burgers! They are my favorite thing to eat in the morning before I venture off. Last year we did them on the grill along with big portabello mushrooms... sooo good.
Also, the celebratory shot of Jameson.. We started each day last year passing around a bottle of Jameson and taking a pull hehe.

I remember a camping trip with the girl scouts where we hollowed out orange rinds and poured white cake mix in and baked them in the coals. It was the most delicious thing I've ever eaten while camping. So with all this talk of just add water pancakes, I'm betting that doing it with pancake mix would also be wonderful.
Oranges and orange-flavored pancakes with some mimosa (glassless, of course) sounds like a perfect breakfast.
Me and my BBF(bonnaroo buddy forever) went stoveless last year, which was fine by me. I had a huge bag of my own 'roo mix (granola clusters, dried fruit, and assorted nuts), beef jerky, mimosas, and franzia. that was enough.
There are two things that have been a staple in my cooler at festivals for over 10 years.
1. Fruit Salad. I use straberries, blueberries, bananas, apples, plums, green grapes, mandarin oranges(because they section well), kiwi, and star fruit. I also add about a cup of a lemon juice and sugar mixture. It's perfect for breakfast, snacks, and as a side for dinner.
2. Pasta Salad. Bowtie wheat pasta. red, green, orange, and yellow bell peppers, cucumbers, brocoli, cheddar cheese, monterey jack cheese, and the cheapest italian dressing. I like the cheap dressing because you go through alot when the pasta soaks up the dressing.
There are a lot of good ideas in this thread. I've never spent over 20bucks in Centeroo for food. I've always been a cook and eat at campsite guy. I'll be making some of these recipes this year. Thx

I don't get where i'm supposed to cook the pancakes!? =[ lol.
Our campsite buddies showed us something they called "Yucca" at our first Bonnaroo and we've brought at least one recipe every year since.
I may not have the right quantities or thermos size off the top of my head, I'll confirm and correct if necessary.
You need a 3 gallon (I think...maybe 5 or 1?) thermos type cooler. Pour in one bottle of vodka 750ml (that one I remember) Halve 10(?) lemons. Squeeze them a bit into the thermos but then drop them in. 1 cup (?) sugar. Fill the rest with ice and close.
Here's the important part. You have to shake it vigorously and constantly for at least 20 minutes. A couple of rules: 1) If you want to drink, you have to take a turn shaking and 2) everyone drinks from the jug. No cups.
Its very communal, it tastes like yummy lemonade, and is a great way to head out from the campsite. Just get a lot of people involved and be careful!
