All That Could Have Been is a Monster!!!!!! Also can't get enough of Okonokos
Drive-By Truckers live at 40 Watt is really good, love the three guitars and vibe
Springsteen Live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 is absolutely mindblowing, everyone needs to see this.
Festival Express is one of the coolest music DVD's I have seen, watching the best of the best take a road trip, crazy jams, crazy drunk jams, cruzin'on Joplin, full of fun and joy- and Canada!
Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam-Just KILLS! An amazing hidden jem
Rory Gallagher Live Irish Tour 1974- If you have never heard/seen him you will be blown away - stunning dvd for really capturing the times and culture from a european perspective.
I'm Not There-Bob Dylan movie (played by many actors)
The Pixies Live in London in 1988 is really cool, Quality is very good, a perfect portrait of the band.
Rolling Stones Circus-The Who's Quick One... is jaw dropping and the rest ain't close to bad either.
For my money, nobody "gets" the intesection of film and music better than Gondry. Classic White Stripes, Daft Punk, Bjork videos on here that really visualize sound in interesting ways.
The best thing on the DVD is a two part documentary about Gondry that is a joy to watch and includes fun things like a little animated short about him farting in bed with his girlfriend.
Gondry's child-like experimentation and honesty is one of the best things going in film now-a-days imo, and this has tons of great examples of it. I've e-mailed Superfly a couple of times suggested that they invite Michel to the farm. I'm convinced if he came to Roo he would come back the next year to make an amazing movie.
