Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I was too young for Woodstock. My father wouldn't let me go to the Byron Pop festival. I got married right out of college. For 26 years I did everything I could for my family. A little over a year ago, she left. So now I can do what I want. And I want to go to Bonnaroo and take my daughter with me.
I saw my first concert at the age of 5 (Jackson Browne) and have loved the quasi-religious power of live music ever since. Bonnaroo gives me an opportunity to see the best live acts in the world all in one weekend. In five years I have been introduced to so much good music that I can never pay enough to SF/AC for all of the wonderful tunes. Number six can't get here fast enough. See you all in June!
Never heard of Bonnaroo until this year.....I was thinkin' of going to Coachella....and then I stumbled across a link for Bonnaroo! Let's just say convincin' my hubby to travel almost 2500 miles to get stinky and stupid for 4 days.....wasn't hard, when he heard who would be playing! We love live music and meeting new peeps, so we're very excited to experience this with all of you!

I think one of the things I noticed about my first time going to roo last year was the atmosphere. It was my friend and I first time attending and we had no idea how to put up a tent! Our neighbor pretty much put up the whole thing for us! It's amazing the love you feel between total strangers for 4 or 5 days.
I also noticed that everyone I met at the Roo last year seemed to have a different accent.. and I loved it! I like meeting a diverse amount of folks from all over the world.
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain I like watchin' the puddles gather rain And all I can do is just pour some tea for two And speak my point of view But it's not sane, It's not sane
I just want some one to say to me I'll always be there when you wake
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
Yeah, Megan, that's what we say here in SC, too. We call 'em by name (coke, pepsi, 7-up, orange crush), but Coke seems to cover all of them. Or even better, do you want some Co-cola?

^^^^ that is it exactly - when Boz goes to the store - he just says "Do you wanna coke?" I tell him yes and he brings me Diet Mt. Dew - LOL
Well, I definitely go for the amazing music. Ever since seeing the Allman Brothers when I was 4 (and hearing the song I'm named after ), I've been hopelessly addicted to it ever since.
But there's more to it than that. It's me not having to worry about making a high enough score on the LSAT to get into law school. It's putting my constant worry over grades and school behind me, and leaving all that stress when I step onto that farm. It's being the girliest girl all your friends know, and them doubting your ability to survive 'Roo, but sleeping on the ground for 4 days, showering with a gallon jug of water, and getting the weirdest tan lines known to man. It's falling asleep in the middle of a giant crowd before Death Cab and no one bothering you. It's dancing like a fool to Tom Petty, 'apologizing' with the Upright Citizens' Brigade, seeing Elvis Costello when I never thought I'd get to see him, and ultimately being amazed at something every step I take. It's just doing whatever, whenever and however I want. I go to Bonnaroo because it makes me feel at peace with myself and with the world.
Oh and the non-stop partying and the state of mind that results isn't bad either ;D
I went on 3 vacations last summer...one to the beach, one to Cancun, Mexico, and one to Bonnaroo....and 4 days in the sun in Tennessee was definitely my favorite!

I went for the first time last year to see Radiohead. Period. I'm returning because I met numerous people who aren't a thing like me, so outside of the farm, I wouldn't have the pleasure of getting to know a bit about them--for example, the two brothers who hadn't seen each other for a year or so because one lived in Michigan and the other in Georgia, they camped with us and sold us beer, the shakedown vendor from New Orleans who lost everything, but still goes from festival to festival to spread his brand of joy, or the bunch of college kids from New Jersey who were just starting their adult lives and helped me remember that time fondly. I'm returning because I saw about six bands in that weekend I was not familiar with before going, but which don't leave my personal playlists now for anything. I'm returning because B'roo nights are such a wonderful time--after the sun has been beating down on your head all day, the moment it dips beneath the trees, the sense of anticipation for what is in store in the dark is fantastic. I'm returning because I went with my best friend, and although we were best friends before, we shared an experience that brought us so much closer together--when you share B'roo with someone, there will always be a special bond. And finally, I'm returning because what better is there to do in the middle of June in the scorching Tennessee heat than wander around outside with a smile on your face for 96 hours or so? ;D
That is how I want Roo to be, and that is why I am reading these boards so I can make it the best time I possibly can have. Me and a fellow virgin rooer are going for the first time this year, and I just can not wait for the mayhem that we are going to get into. We both are going through medical school and this will be our main escape from those stresses before we have to resume studies. You do not understand how nice it will be to left 2-3 years of school stress off our shoulders for 5 days. Starting with the Bonolitto concert on Wednesday, that is next door to Bonnaroo and is just a huge gathering with small local bands playing (local from around nation mind you), and on top of that my friends band is playing that show. I cant wait and I cant wait to party with every single one of you guys!!
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

^That was actually a quote from HeavyMetalDrummer, not me. I quoted him because I really dug what he was saying. I quoted him in an effort to explain why I was throewing some karma his way.
That being said, I think that you and your friend will have the time of your lives! Bonnaroo is simply amazing! My girlfriend had just graduated law school before Roo last year and it seemed like the perfect way to celebrate. We had a blast! This will be our fourth year and just thinking about it gets me as giddy as a schoolgirl! It's an addictive experience! You will be back!

I'm going primarily to see The Police. Also, though I've been to lots of fest's this will be the first one I've actually camped at. So, I'm looking forward to 4 days of getting away from work, life and all the bs that comes with it. If I could, I'd do Coachella simply because of the line up this year, unfortunately Coachella clashes with my husband's 40th birthday and if I'm getting a fest this year, it's going to have to be Bonnaroo.

Typical conversation in a TN restaurant:
What would you like to drink?
I'll take a "Coke", what kind do you have?
We have Coke, Mt Dew, Sprite, Diet Coke, Orange Crush.
OK, I'll have a Coke then.

I need to recharge my spiritual batteries; they've been running low these last few years. Good music, a little bit of back-to-nature, some fine drink, and making new friends should do the trick...
