I love all the bands on the larger stages. But for me part of the fun of Bonnaroo is catching a smaller band I've never heard before.
One of my favorites was on Thursday in the Troo Music Lounge. The set with The Big Sleep was simply amazing. Looked like everybody there was blown away.
Also on Saturday I was on my way to Levon Helm at the Other Stage, when I heard this angelic voice singing CSNY's Helpless on the Solar Stage. I had to go over there, and it turns out it was The Everybodyfields and they rocked.
These were two badass performances. Maybe it was a coincidence that both bands had hot chicks jamming out the bass guitar. Hell yeah.
Anybody have a favorite performance from a smaller band?

I've said it before around these parts-Bombadil is simply amazing. They were by far my favorite small show of the whole fest. Also, the Two Gallants performance on the solar stage rocked.
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...

Yeah, Back Door Slam was really good. I'll preach the Avett Brothers until the world is converted. Good find on the Everybodyfields. I like them as well. Nomo was a show that I'd never heard of but really enjoyed. I don't know if their cd's are any good, but their live show is a lot of fun.

I definitely dig Avett but to me once you're getting a mid day slot you're probably not that small anymore. Well, I suppose its all relative Avett is still ridic small compared to say Lil' Wayne.
And I really loved the Adele set. It was insanely good and there was barely anyone at it.

Colour Revolt- their Ep and CD are both incredible and they were one of the best bands at bonnaroo K'Naan- my favorite show at bonnaroo, his set was sooo full of energy (just listen to "in the beginning" and you will be hooked) Your Vegas- Very good, most people would say they are too much like the killers or the bravery but i really like them Person L- Is great, they dont have a cd out yet but they are awesome go to their myspace
*I got pictures with your vegas and person L and met K'Naan, all are such nice people

two gallants and EVERYBODYFIELDS
i was in the same spot for two gallants as i was for sigur ros on the fence in the very front just barely left of the center... almost 12 hours apart
was really cool when the two gallants singer and his gf/or wife came out during sigur ros... told him how great his set was, and that i'd been waiting there all day for sigur ros (his gf/or wife in response said "that's kind of creepy" and would then later stand on the bench on the other side of the fence in front of me and my gf during vaka...) but he seemed stoked about hearing the compliment and said sigur ros was worth the wait... and that he was lucky to not have to wait
The Everybodyfields totally delivered. After looking forward to them all day, I pretty much ran my way from Ben Folds to the Troo Music Lounge. My only complaint... they didn't completely drown out Jack Johnson. Without a doubt one of my top three shows of roo.
And seriously, how freaking cute is this. Can't be beat.
I thouroughly enjoyed The Big Sleep on Thurs., despite not being able to see the band fully after the dancers crowded in front. They played an amazing show, and I can safely say that I'll see them again.
am I the only one on inforoo that saw Lord T & Eloise? these guys were so good...they did a cover of the Beastie Boy's Paul Revere....so badass!
I've been pimping these guys on here for a couple years.....they seem like a gimmick but are legit...i was actually fortunate enough to serve as one of their "bodyguards" at a show at the Orpheum in Memphis for a show after the Opera.
Dead Confederate. I caught a few songs in route between Phil and Ghostland during my late night nomad-ness and they blew me away. I was walking by the lounge and got sucked in, their energy was amazing! Check them out if you have a chance.
