Of note, Mastodon's show turned me into a fan. It was that good.
That's interesting because I've been a huge fan for a while and was really disapponted by their set. I don't know if they started early or what, but they ended at like 4:50. And they didn't play Blood & Thunder, Sleeping Giant, Capillarian Crest or really most of Blood Mountain. I just heard Crystal Skull and Colony of Birchmen.
I was waiting for Sleeping Giant and was pretty disappointed I never got to hear it. I left a little early and just assumed it came later in the set. The Sword seriously set the bar way too high for metal for the rest of the weekend.

My Morning Jacket was the best show I have ever seen in my life. My friends split after about an hour and I went up to the front railing and watched the entire show in the rain. After waiting for it to rain all weekend, and it starts pouring shortly after they start it seemed like it was part of the show. they tore that place apart and played until 3:45, afterwards i snuck backstage and gave Jim James a Hi-5. Absolutely the best concert experience of my life. Wait until my videos from the front railing in the rain are up on youtube, I am about to put up One Big Holiday.
Edit: The Glow stick war for their show was also completely awesome.

I went to see M.I.A, and I'm damn glad that I did, considering her retirement! I liked Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, and TIESTO & MSTRKRFT were amazing. I hope they add even more techno stiile artists next year.
i really feel super lame for saying this but MIA was one of the top shows i saw during the weekend just because of the crazy energy that was going on during the show. i have never heard a crowd of that size scream louder in my life
other shows i was really into were bss, iron and wine, les claypool, mgmt, battles, the big sleep and tiesto was a really happening time

100% agree. I've never been so exhausted after a concert. It's like they had a faucet for the rain - it poured and let up at just the right times. Epic. Can't wait to see the videos. Not many people stayed until the end...I turned around to leave and was shocked at how small the crowd had become at nearly 4am!
Every show we saw seemed to be the artists' absolute best effort. Nobody took a set or song off - very cool.
Pearl Jam - First time seeing them, it was an awesome experience Levon Helm - sure we have all heard multiple bands sing the weight but come on that poop was awesome, not to mention rag mama rag and ophehilia Vampire Weekend - super fun and high energy really enjoyed it Widespread - best jam of the weekend had me dancing the whole time Jack Johnson - I love Jack Chris Rock - Hilarious

1. Pearl Jam - Amazing as always, and with the clouds rolling in and lightning in the distance at sundown, the view from sitting way the hell in the back was absolutely beautiful. 2. Metallica - These guys really know how to bring it. 3. Back Door Slam - Davey Knowles = the great blues rock guitar god of the next generation 4. My Morning Jacket - may have been #1 if I could have stayed for the whole set, #2 for sure 5. Minus the Bear - great show, wish it could've been longer, but I guess that's what you get for 2:45 PM on a Friday
My Morning Jacket, hands down, no one can even touch them. I thought it would of been impossible for them to top their '06 show but the truth is they played the best show the farm has/ever will see. Truly incredible, once again, "I have never seen a band control the weather before." I have to find out if they hand rain machines or something, otherwise I know who God's favourite band is.
