Ugh. I can't stand these guys - they remind me of Matisyahu, in that, were it not for their "quirk" factor, no one would care. The whole "Oh my God! They're a bunch of crazy gypsies!" angle is what holds them up, IMO. Just like Matisyahu was hot for a minute, but cooled once people got over the whole "Hasidim toasting/rapping" thing...I just really think these guys fall into that same area of performer. Meh.

I kinda agree about Matisyahu, especially after his followup album hit and I realized I'd heard it all before on his previous album. But IMHO, Gogol's got a more substance and style.... they're not just a gypsy gimmick. I'm not saying that I see a long and diverse future in their music, but I definitely see a few more years for them.
Then again, Santana's been pulling that gimmicky Electric-guitar-over-latin-melodies-and-African-rhythms thing for a while as well....

I can't stand Matisyahu, but I've really been digging Gogol Bordello. I think the quirk factor definitely draws people in initially, but the music is also interesting, and they have a great sense of humor. And it appears that their concerts are a whole lot of fun!

I keep double clicking out of full screen and accidentally clicking that Mile High Music Festival link, which interrupts the music. That's damn annoying.

Release the SPIDER ROBOT LARS! They will learn the error of their ways after tasting the business end of his PERCUSSION-GUIDED LASER EYEBEAMS!

I lol'd. Karma.
And yeah, that must have been a pretty big jump to not receive internal injuries.
Against Me! started off slow with that anti-war song, but it's really starting to pick up. I've never heard of them before and it's not really my thing, but they do have a better sound than alot of the new "punk rock" bands.

I really wish there were late night shows... I was thinking how awesome it would've been last night to come home drunk and sit down and be able to watch MMJ live
