Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I don't think it's a stretch by any means. Superfly has stated before that they have been trying to get Waits for Roo. AC Entertainment is producing the Waits tour, and the tour just so happens to start the day after Roo ends.

they would announce that.
thats too big to not announce.
has there ever been someone this big that just kinda of "showed up" without some sort of announcement?
edit: just remembered that i dont think they announced that trey was there for the superjam in 06. and im pretty sure he wasnt on the lineup...so theres one example
I am going to the show in Birmingham. Turns out Dad is a fan, and he needed a companion (wheelchair) to go with. The seats are in the 4th row, so I needs to be studying up on his stuff. I am mostly unfamiliar with it.

Are you surprised there are still seats for this show? I thought all these shows sold out super fast.
I have mixed feelings about Waits being added. On one hand, I would love to see Waits, especially seeing as he hardly ever tours. On the other, I don't want to miss another epic MMJ late-night set.
^^Except the reason that started this thread. I am not saying it is likely, but I don't think you can safely rule it out. Especially considering AC is producing the tour.

^^^Indeed, when this thread started there was a small amount of reason to suggest Waits might be there. But that was after the actual tour schedule was released that starts after Bonnaroo, and the final artist additions that stated "no more additions".
No last year was the first year that they announced it, before Bonnaroo, I think. And as far as AC Entertainment booking the tour .. Superfly Booked the one before several years ago. He didn't play then. I would love to see Waits there. But I am not holding my breath.
^^^Fortunate for you that there is absolutely NO reason whatsoever to even begin to think about expecting Waits at Bonnaroo this year.
Well JPJ was announced June 6th last year, so I am gonna wait and see what happens. Like I said I don't consider it likely, but the above statement is taking things a bit to far. It IS Possible, and there IS some evidence to suggest it may happen. I have Knoxville tickets, about 6 rows back so I am not particularly worried about whether or not he plays 'roo.

The more I think about this, the more I'd rather the Superjam just be Waits covers than Waits himself. The reason is I'm a HUGE TW fan (second-favorite artist ever), and I'm seeing the first two shows of the tour. Having never seen him before, I'd rather my first Waits experience be him in his element, in a theater, with his own band, etc.

I just had a thought. We still do not have an answer for that one "roo clue" being something like "the walrus is not Paul" or something like that. We also know that Les, Eugene, and Kirk are doing something but with no mention of a drummer. This points to me to thinking that Ringo will be the drummer for the Superjam this year. Just a thought and I have not heard any mention of this for awhile and thought I would throw my two cents in.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
You know, I have a *really* open, avant-garde mind when it comes to music, and...Maybe this doesn't do much for my pureist sensibilities, but...I was okay with Scarlett Johansson doing her Tom Waits project.
In theory.
Today I happened to catch a link to Scarlett singing with her band, LIVE. LIVE, as in "no post-production editing".
It was TERRIBLE. My heart kind of broke for her...Her voice was just so simply flat and out of tune and NOT idiosyncratic or interesting or husky in any sort of way, shape, or form. It was one of the worst performances I've ever seen.
Seeing Scarlett perform at a music festival would be aching, acute pain. (THANK YOU GOD FOR STAGE FRIGHT)
If I want to look around awkwardly, feel ashamed, and not make eye contact with anyone, I'll go visit my dad.

So I watched the Diving Bell and the Butterfly. When "All the World is Green Came On" I couldent help but wish to myself of Tom Waits showing up. Seems possible, but roo has definitly taught me a lesson about getting my hopes up.
