It looks like Bonnaroo is being inconsiderate as well as I just heard from Jesse that they are no longer allowing pregnancy as a disability at Bonnaroo.
Yeah I get it. It's not in the real world but at Bonnaroo there should be some special consideration for a pregnant woman. Like a chair under the tents or a spot on the bleachers at the stages.

Pregnancy isn't a disability like you said and I think one of the big problems in the US is seeing it as so. From the medical field (why do we have babies at the same place people to go die?) to the idea that you should constantly be encouraging pregnant women to be inactive or eat a ton of food. This kind of thinking made my first pregnancy harder than it should have been. My Mom finally told me to suck it up when I was complaining, reminding me that she went into labor while playing beach volleyball in Flordia, 42 weeks pregnant. (thanks Mom) With my second I realized I wasn't breakable or deserving of more attention than anyone else and pregnancy wasn't a disability. That my body was strong and capable, that I could depend on myself. I hate the idea that women are fragile breakable little dainty things. We aren't. We are strong, smart, and able to take care of ourselves and others. I'm sure someone in the shade would easily give up their spot for a pregnant woman to have a seat. Pregnancy isn't an illness it's a stage in life and I'm glad Bonnaroo sees it as so.
Abra, I love it, that was hilarious. People can have complications, but shouldn't be at 'Roo if that is the case. I DO approve of the close parking for new mothers, those baby carriers are a b!tch to lug everywhere.

Shiiit I moved myself twice pregnant (a friend carried my refrigerator the second time ) and was in the MTSU marching band... playing euphonium (size reference below) until December. My due date was early February and I worked up until it (heck, needed the money!). My doctor stayed on my ass about gaining weight and always told me to be more active!

Those spots should say "For parents who have more kids than arms." Or lugging one of those baby carseats which are heavy as fak!
But as far as being active. I'm all for it. And really isn't just being at Bonnaroo pretty active.
For the most part I was fine. And in the day time people were better at being human. But at night sometimes they become very pushy. That's where the special seating and the back walkway came in handy. It was just to avoid the d-bags that would step on me or push me out of the way to get closer to the stage.
So I definately agree that it shouldn't be a disability but there should be some consideration when telling the pregnant girls where to camp.
As far as going to the hospital. I LOVE that too. It's like a little vacation for me. For two days I get to watch what I want to watch and sleep when I want to sleep and I have my food brought to me while I'm in bed. The shower is huge and it never runs out of hot water. There is even a nice little padded seat to sit on. I mean come on. How much better can it get. I'm a little sad I won't ever get to do that again.

Oh lord, I hated the hospital. Always coming in and poking me right when I get to sleep. Wanting to poke the baby as soon as he's calm. Nasty hospital food and thinking everything I touch has MRSA on it. I hated it so much I had my second at home. Now that was freaking sweet.
I have four kids under the age of 10 so the hospital was much more peaceful. I would totally do it at home because I'm pretty sure I know what to expect but I just loved my hospital so much. And I actually liked the food they brought me.
But I guess each hospital is different. I'm glad I had a really good one.
My oldest son is prone to MRSA so I guess it doesn't faze me anymore.
And I don't like going to the hospital for any other reason except to stay on the maternity floor.
I am familiar with the Bonnaroo heat and plan on chill-axing in the VIP AC tents or back in our shady abode (aka multiple EZ up mash up at camp) during the hottest parts of the day. I don't turn into a raging "biznatch" at midnight or 12 noon just 'cause I am pregnant. In previous years past, we have helped those in need and been considerate of others. I don't plan on stopping that just because I am pregnant. And as far as cookies are concerned I will anticipate sharing (plus my hunger x2) and bring a Costco sized box.

I have been to Bonnaroo for 9 years in a row and have camped every year. I will be 8 months preggo this year with my 1st. I am not worried bc as long as I stay hydrated then I should b fine and so should your pregnant wives/GF's. I am a local and I can't bear the thought of not going to Roo. Over the years I have seen many preggo ladies hoofing it around Bonnaroo with baby bumps of all sizes. I will probably be safer this year more so than ever bc I'll b drinking water instead of beer like I have everyother year. Good luck to you all and I'll see u at Roo!

Swags to you ardunlap22! I tend to look and feel like I am harboring an elephant when pregnant, even if I've only gained 20lbs, so I give big props to anyone who is willing to tackle the challenge. I'd probably give it a whirl, but I can't imagine it would be easy. Hope to see you and the kiddo in transit on the farm.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I'll be 7 months pregnant at Roo this year and we are planning on staying in Family Camping. The Bonnaroo website says that expecting parents are welcome. Do you think the volunteers at the toll booth will give us trouble in getting the car marker for family camping since we won't have any kids with us?
