As mentioned in another thread, Icky Thump (the full album) leaked onto the internet a few days ago. I have listened to it, and despite the poor quality of some of the audio (because after track four its a radio rip), I must say this album is very very good. I had high expectations and they were met, I am all the more psyched for their show.
I agree. Icky thump as great as it is, maybe the third best song on the album. There are utube live performances of icky thump and effect and cause. plus the interview is interesting. Sorry if its been posted already
everyone bashes Meg but as a drummer they don't need more and there is that Meg look that I cant describe it makes me a little weak in the knees. Anybody else ?
"Well Americans, what do you do? Why don't you kick yourself out? You're an immigrant too!"
I've only heard "Icky Thump," "Conquest," "You Don't Know What Love Is," "I'm Slowly Turning Into You," and "Catch Hell Blues." I think the new songs will sound great live.
i downloaded it last week but i couldn't bring myself to listen to it! they did put 'rag and bone' out on itunes today, and that song is the best ever.
and cold war kids are supporting the fall tour!! i = a very happy camper
There is a near CD quality leak out there as well, I downloaded it two days ago and haven't stopped listening to it yet. I downloaded the radio rip, but figured I would wait it out, but having this high quality leak fall into my lap, I could wait no longer. "Rag and Bone" is a definite standout, "You Don't Know What Love Is" is as fuckin rockin a pop song there could be, "I'm Slowly Turning Into You" is fantastic -- I could go on. This album is a real gem -- Jack's still got it. Can't wait to buy it!
For those who haven't downloaded it or don't want to download it, the band has offered a free stream of Icky Thump on MTV.com, available today through the release date:

My favorites so far are: Rag and Bone, You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told), A Martyr For My Love To You, I'm Slowly Turning Into You. The whole album is fantastic, it definitely met my high expectations.
