I would have to say that even though the majority of my taste falls on the jam category, Opeth and Lamb Of God are amazing bands. i like alot of the roster of labels like solid state. Metal with a somewhat positive message to me, is an amazing idea.
Slipknot has really helped to reawaken the metal demons inside me that have slept for far too long. BTW any you metalheads into DEthklok those guys are really brutal.

Do not yell back at me, I'm in no mood for my own tone of voice right now.
me me me too! I just saw this thread - While I like all music - have to say I am more into Korn, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Rob Zombie, Godsmack and stuff like that then jam bands
Godsmack puts on an excellent show... Metalhead or not, go see those guys and you will leave whiplashed and in shock....
Yes they do! Saw them in Hotlanta in May....very impressed. Drum battle is awesome Sully's Godsmack pre-school was a hoot! Some of the ATL crowd were a little slow....

Wow. I'm super late on this thread. It is great to see some real metalheads on the Bonnaroo boards! I see some good names on there... but is anyone here into any of the more extreme varieties like Necrophagist, Nile, Behemoth, Between the Buried and Me, Cephalic Carnage?

i love Lamb of God, great american metal for you.
enter the new Pantera.
I'm at Lamb of God in Atlanta tailgating right now! Fucking stoked
Just something I realized: If the rest of my summer goes according to plan and I see Metallica at Lollapalooza and Anthrax at Riot Fest, I would have seen 3 of the 4 thrash metal gods this summer (Slayer at Roo). Never thought I'd be able to say that!
