-Portishead: Live: Roseland NYC (a real suprise to me how good this was, though their albums are good I feel you could get this disc and have all the Portishead you really *need*) -Frank Zappa: Zappa In New York (the version of Titties & Beer is priceless, ditto with the Black Page) -Miles Davis: Live-Evil (seems to be the most hated Miles album, but I love it. Very aptly named as well, very.... "dark")
Phish- A Live One (Aboslutely amazing live album) Yonder Mountain String Band - Mountain Tracks Vol. 2 Galactic - We Love'em Tonight: Live at Tipitinas
Those are just my 3 favorite at the moment. The phish one will always be one of the best to me. I could really pick any of the YMSB Mounain Tracks volumes but 2 is what really hooked me.

ohh this is interesting!
Thou now that I think about it I don't have that many official live albums that are worth being a top 3. Only 1 comes to mind, Got Live if You Want it by Dead Meadow. It comes on a super sexy yellow clear vinyl. Well super sexy if you have a fetish for colored vinyl. Here check it out, I snapped a pic, the cover is interesting.
How the West Was One by Led Zeppelin would get a top 3 vote for me as well.

1.The Doors - Live In Detroit -> Great jam session by one of Americas greatest bands of all time... 2.Bob Dylan - Live 1966 "Royal Albert Hall" -> Has the famous 'Judas' remark that I still find funny... 3.Bob Marley & The Wailers - Babylon By Bus -> Listened to this album for a whole summer without taking it off the turntable...Great live Marley, really bob in his prime...

So tough to pick three, but here it goes.
Stevie Ray Vaughan And Albert King-In Session: Pure raw rock blues. I can't get enough blues!
Jimi Hendrix & The Band Of Gypsys-Kicks The Experiences ass IMO.
The Doors-Live At The Aquarius Theatre
Long jams, and The Celebration Of The Lizard.....who could ask for more.
***Caution: Music Rant***
Great Doors Album (Their live albums really show their potential beyond the quippy studio albums). Regarding Jimi Hendrix, I will give you Billy Cox being better than Noel Redding on bass (Noel thought he was a lot better than he was, he should have been grateful to play with Jimi) but I have to retain Mitch Mitchell over Buddy Miles on drums...Mitch was so much more dynamic and powerful than Buddy...so I will have to go with the Woodstock lineup of Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchell also known as Gypsy Sun & Rainbows as the essential Jimi Hendrix band(although they were not around long...but neither was Cream and they are one of the greatest bands ever if not the...)
Phish-Live on New Years Eve At MSG West Montgomery and Wynton Kelly-Smokin at the Half Note Jimi Hendrix-Blue WIld Angel
and yes, Bilyl Cox owned Noel Redding ten times over. Much better bassist and person in general than Noel was. Check out blue wild angel if you havent heard it (or seen it, its a dvd too). Great, great set. God Save the Queen>Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts CLub Band>Spanish Castle Magic to start off the show. The Machine Gun on BWA is fantastic as well. UI could go on for days about Jimi and his greatness as Im sure most of us coudl so Ill stop.

Ive seen parts of Blue Wild Angel, I have seen that Machine Gun and it rules...any version of Machine Gun rules actually, now that i think about it...
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

Oh does it.. In the middle of Machine Gun there you hear walkie talkies over the amplifier system and it sounds like its part of the song but its just the walkie talkies of the event coordinaters interfering with the sound (that show had a lot of technical difficulties). But yeah, Jimi tends to do that with his songs, make them amazing and all.

Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison/At San Quentin - I can't tell how many times I've listened to both of those albums, but I can tell you that I never tire of listening to them
The Who - Live at Leeds
Portishead - Roseland NYC (the PNYC DVD of that show is very good as well, and also has several of their videos as well)
"Stealing? How could you?! Haven’t you learned anything from that guy who gives those sermons at church? Captain What’s-his-name? We live in a society of laws. Why do you think I took you to all those Police Academy movies? For fun? Well, I didn’t hear anybody laughin’, did you? Except at that guy who made sound effects. Where was I? Oh yeah -- stay out of my booze."
I'll say the top 3: Pink Floyd - Pulse Alice in Chains - Unlugged Metallica - S&M
honrable mentions: Dredg - Live at the Fillmore Dashboard Confessional - Unplugged NIN - And All That Could Have Been Children of Bodom - Tokyo Warhearts Pantera - Official Live: 101 Proof The Mars Volta - Scabdates
and if rips from DVDs count: Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere Opeth - Lamentations
