Sounds like you didn't enjoy half of it. Was that mostly from exhaustion or because you were trying new things that you normally don't listen to? I think if I lived in a big city and had money I would probably go to so many shows that I would die. We already do a lot, considering we have to drive 2 hr. most of the time.
It might sound like that, but overall, I actually enjoyed quite a lot. But some exhaustion + some trying new things (especially the electronic stuff) might have made me enjoy it less than I would if I watched these performances in more than 40 days.
I am still alive, but cannot say the same for my savings account.

It would make sense for exhaustion to dull enjoyment of a set. I've had this happen to me many a time, it sucks.
That was a very enjoyable read, thank you for sharing! I'm glad you mentioned Jennifer Cardini, she's on the Rakastella lineup and I had never heard of her, but I'm always partial to checking out female DJs and producers. I'll give her some listens on Spotify and YouTube soon.
Saw the Meeting of the Spirits tour in NOLA on Monday night.
Might have been the best show I've ever been to. At the very least it's a top 3 show. Even got a setlist If you are a fan of jazz or fusion you really don't want to miss out on this.
Jimmy Herring's Invisible Whip opens and he does an hour, including Miles Davis' John McLaughlin and the Allman's Les Brers in A Minor. John McLaughlin does an hour of 4th Dimension songs with a couple of Mahavishnu Orchestra songs mixed in as well as a Pharaoh Sanders cover.
Both of those sets alone are fantastic, but then all of the Invisible Whip joins the 4th Dimension and they do a 3rd set of all Mahavishnu Orchestra songs, which is about as balls out as you are going to get in this day and age. Some of the best musicianship you can get on one stage.
They play ATX tomorrow then work their way towards the West Coast for the end of the tour.
This is McLaughlin's farewell USA tour, and he hasn't performed classic Mahavishnu Orchestra songs here in 30 years at least so this is something truly special.
3rd set:
Meeting of the Spirits Birds of Fire A Lotus On Irish Streams Trilogy The Dance of Maya Earth ship Eternity's Breath Pt 1 & 2
E: You Know You Know

Gaga was fun, the production/stage is pretty next level. Played all the hits, also played a lot of things I didn't know but everyone around me was pretty excited for just about all of them. She had this crystal-laser piano that was pretty awesome. There were a lot of sappy Hurricane Harvey bits (expected) and a lot about her friend from Houston who passed recently (which felt unique and it was touching). I bought tickets like 30 minutes before showtime and I'm pretty glad I did. Girlfriend is a bigger fan and she loved it. I'm glad I saw her in an arena vs. a fest just because of the stage setup, but if she was at a fest I'd definitely check it out again.

Spoon was insane last night. I knew they would be good. I knew it would be better than their roo set, but holy moly it was amazing! Probably a top 15 show all time for me. Maybe even top 10. Its hard to say. Just wow. I was speechless afterwards. They are on my must not miss list now.

Damn you just reminded me that I somehow left Spoon off my list of best shows of the year.
Do Make Say Think were goddamn amazing last night in Cleveland. It was like seeing Godspeed You! Black Emperor or Sigur Rós at their peak; the 9 piece band melded so well together with soaring violin lines, triumphant trumpet/sax fanfares, searing guitars, and dual drummers propelling everything forward. Their current tour's almost over, but if you ever get a chance to see them in the future you most certainly would not regret going;
Thinking of going to see The War on Drugs on Wednesday. Anyone seen them on this tour?
yeah I really enjoyed it. the light/stage production more better than I expected, adam is a monster on the guitar, setlist was good. they also played for a really long time, I was pretty impressed.
File away for I probably should have known better, but Graves and What So Not was easily the worst show I've seen in forever. Damn. Both were weak as fuck.
First show of 2018 was Lana Del Rey tonight. The boyfriend is a huge fan, so I surprised him with last-minute tickets.
Surprisingly good vocals and stage presence. Half the set was from Born to Die, which is the only album I truly like of hers. The backing band was great, as well as the dancers.
Jhene Aiko opened for her, and I can see her blowing up the next couple years.
Petit Biscuit was pretty good last night. Not much musicianship to speak of (there was a lot of standing around after he hit play), but the visuals were cool and the music from his new album (plus some unreleased stuff) all sounded great. If he employs a set up and band like Odesza, this kid will be yuge.

Go check out Charley Crockett and the Blue Drifters for a good time. He describes his style coming about from growing up in the same town as Freddy Fender, busking for years in the streets of New Orleans, and putting this band together from the blues clubs of Deep Ellum. Plus he’s got good jokes, like how they discovered his accordions player’s car window was smashed one morning and they found two extra new accordions inside.

First show of 2018 was Umphrey's McGee last Saturday in Cincinnati. First UM show ever other than a few songs at Bonnaroo 2012 and i went knowing only a few songs none of which were played.
It was a lot of fun! The crowd came to party hard. But its also kind of strange because i got the feeling at least in my section that the crowd only wants to hear the bursts of hard rock. Any slower part was hard to hear due to talking, then a crescendo and everybodys freaking out again.
Cover of Pink Floyd's Breathe was cool and kinda strange because its one of the only songs i heard them play at Roo 2012. Also they did Joe Jacksons Stepping Out which the people right of me were abnormally hyped to hear.
The lead guitarist is legit incredible though. The band sounded great. But damn that shit is a marathon. Nearly 3 hour shows are dope but driving 75 minutes home afterwards, I was a zombie.
I get UM a lot more now. They're great at what they do.

Holy Ship blew my dick off in the best ways. Amazing and great sets from testpilot (deadmau5, 2x), The Black Madonna (2x), Mall Grab (2x), Kim Ann Foxman, Rezz, Mind Against, Cut Snake and more.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club were great last night, but afterwards i went to this smaller club and had my face melted by this cosmic psych band Crypt Trip. They were phenomenal. Saw another one of my favorite local bands, Annabelle Chairlegs. They were great as usual. Can't stop thinking about how awesome Crypt Trip was though. It was like we had jumped through a time loop into like 1967.

Has anyone seen The Killers on their current tour? I'm seeing them tonight and I'm looking for opening act information or when they go on stage and can't find anything.

Alex Cameron is opening. He wrote a bunch of stuff on the current Killers album, which is a good clue as to his sound.

The opener was generic. Went on from 8-8:30 then The Killers went on at 9:12.
Last show was Sleep in Birmingham. Can still feel the waves of sound pummeling my body. The opener was Yautja from Nashville, and they were surprisingly good.
Was there a cool tour poster for Sleep? Haven't seen pics of any yet. Their artist is awesome.
Last awesome show I went to was The Revolution for NYE in BFE Louisiana at a casino.
They were great and played a perfect setlist, but Brown Mark was not happy with the small crowd, many of whom were sitting down. It's a f'n casino what did you expect?
I'm assuming their post-Mardi Gras NOLA show will be way better.
