Yeah, if I can and she'll be there a few days, I'll definitely try to make it down. As of right now, I am trying to decide if I can make a wedding in Arizona happen. It's that weekend. :/ If I don't, I'm definitely down for some NYC time and might try to get a ticket. My Roo crew will all be there too. If I do go to AZ and abrakapokus is there for more than just the weekend, I'll still try
I'm not sure when I'm arriving, where I'm staying, or how long I'll be in town but right now I'm trying for at least three days. Probably at least the 3-5. I would love to have drinks if y'all are in town! Dr. Joe and bonzai

I applied for the Peace Corps earlier this year because it is something I have always wanted to do, and I just got the email tonight saying that I got accepted! I'm leaving for Paraguay in March!
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

ha! Well, I certainly would take some wine :-) But I haven't had many days of contentment for a while, and the ones I have had have involved wine and festivals. I can't have wine and festivals everyday, so I'm happy to have some contentment without either.

I recant this statement. My life is a series of many tragedies, sprinkled with infrequent, but intense, bouts of joy. As are the paths' of most humans, I believe. Or Whoreshack and I were really right about being black cloud kids.

I woke up this morning to a picture of my flight intenerary to go to California in two weeks. This is a free trip paid for by my mom and aunt as an early birthday present. I love my family so much. They seriously do so much for me. I need a break for sure and this couldn't have come at a better time!
And I talked to my supervisor yesterday about the time off I submitted that we no longer have staffing for. By politely explaining the situation (I bought plane tickets because we had staffing. It's not my fault they moved someone without placing them on a transfer hold, which they're supposed to do per the SOP) I'm now stuck with lots of money invested in those two weekends. He is allowing me to have both weekends off anyways. So I'm not getting written up for Riot & ACL! Woo!

This is so awesome. The Peace Corps is super selective, CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!! It's going to be amazing!

Boyfriend has mono! This is only a YAY because we finally have it diagnosed... after 5 weeks of him feeling like shit and seeing multiple doctors.
Oh no!! I had it a few years back and it took 2 weeks before the doctor's realized what it was and I was the one who wanted to be tested for mono -- they kept assuring me it was just strep throat that was lingering. Hope he feels better soon. Get him some popsicles, stat! It took about a month to recover and even then, my energy levels were low for months.

Stacey "AIDS came from a gay guy fucking a monkey" Campfield has officially been defeated in his primary. I never thought I would this excited about a Republican winning anything.
So I normally don't work Fridays. And in Rhode Island, it's a holiday weekend. (I never heard of Victory Day until I started dating Heather, it's apparently a thing they made up just in RI.) Heather told me to take Monday off from work, 'cause you know... holiday weekend.

So yeah, hello four day weekend.
Here, the last Friday in October is Nevada Day, which is great because it pretty much always means a long weekend around Halloween.

<furiously composing a letter to my congressperson demanding a made up holiday for Minnesota>
In Tucson we have rodeo weekend, which is Thursday and Friday. Unfortunately, the U of A stopped giving it off a year before I got there, but the public schools and community college still have it off.
