I had a whiskey revelation last night (possibly induced further by a rekindled Netflix marathon of old Mad Men episodes) that I truly love most all things about my life: my wife, my home, my city, my cats, my optimism about the future.. Although we have had a rough few months because of job issues and the like, I feel like this is going to be a great year.
Also, reading all of your Yay's make me even happier.
Sitting on a plane in SC. It costs $25 to check a bag but $30 to upgrade to first class and check a bag for free. Guess what i chose? Currently me and the other drunk guy in first class just talked the flight attendant into making a pitcher of mojitos. God damn I love my life.
I told the flight attendant that I'm going to be the best man at a gay wedding in Times Square this June and (shocker) turns out he's gay and married and when he found out I'm also going to be DJing a gay wedding reception we ended up having a great conversation about Prince, Morrissey and New Order. Red wine was flowing - best 2 hour flight in years!

Tom, I want to smooch you so hard right now.
I'm laughing like a hyena on super good space acid.

We finally bought a full-size truck! Yay! It's a new-to-us truck, but it has low miles and it is 4-wheel drive! We needed it for our construction business.
But, my GRRRRR is now we are broke. Going to be seriously watching the spending the next couple of months and this may affect our shows and festival plans for 2013. A GRRRR and a Yay all-in-one.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Got a phone interview for a job today...which will hopefully result in a real interview? Anyway, they're the first ones to call me back, so yay! And Tom, you're awesome.

Good luck! Any place would be so lucky to have you
YAY! I just purchased tickets to see The Avett Brothers in April at Clemson. This will be my first concert of year (unless I convince my husband to go see Grace Potter with me next month) and I can't wait!!
I'm so glad I still understand speaker cabinet wiring, almost lost the left side of this completely:
Lost the tweeter in the process, but atleast the living room sound system is balanced somewhat. (JBL's on top as the real tweeters; I probably need to pull the wiring from the other to get true balance again, but another day).

New work computer. In addition to being able to start programs in less than half an hour now, I also have a 24" widescreen monitor that is f*cking boss.
As some of you may know, my wife recently lost her new position at Early Childhood Support and Services in Louisiana as state budget cuts eliminated all ECSS clinics effective Feb 1. This is still a horrible truth, and I still feel horrible for all the low income families who will miss out on this important service.
The good news is that a nearby private practice that does both payment and medicaid is so interested in hiring her on as their full time child psychologist, the head psychiatrist called to tell her today that he wants to meet so he can create the perfect job for her, nit only giving her a much needed job but allowing her to name her conditions! She had worked so hard to get where she is now, and the only thing we have left to worry about is breaking the news to tulane staff. Yay!
Working on MLK day so I can use that paid day for a festival later in the year. YAY!
Me too!!! We kind of have to work it, but we get the choice of either getting paid double time and a half or getting paid time and a half + taking the holiday at another date. I always go for the latter
