I'll tell you what I WOULDN'T do: I wouldn't go around Bonnaroo message boards claiming that I have all this inside information, but then refuse to share it with anyone. I have to imagine that anyone doing that would have to be the biggest weeniebag alive.

Would leak one band a day in the form of youtubes from a separate account. People wouldn't understand at first, but then next year everyone would freak out waiting for "mortimerthebonnaroolineuprevealinghedgehogjr" to post some youtube videos.

I sure would not post anything on here, especially if I was just trying to confirm the absence of a band from somebody who would know. Doubly especially not when it gets people friending you on facebook just to stalk your contacts. Some people on here are ungrateful little NBC.

Funny thing is, until I changed jobs, I would have had a decent inside track on info for this year. The son of one of the people I used to work for is apparently one of the production, management and booking people for Superfly out of NYC, and works on Bonnaroo. I didn't find this out until late spring of last year, when my (much older) boss told me that she goes to Bonnaroo every year because her son help put it together, so she goes for free. She was very excited for Kris Kristoffersen. Ah well.

I used to be able to hit up the DJ's for our local radio station, and some others people around town but this year either they are getting it when we are, or they are not telling a soul. The guy I talked to is more involved in band and touring logistics, but I figured he had a better chance than anyone else I had left of knowing anything.

I would leak it stealthily, though no one would believe due to the fact that this board is more jaded than that Aerosmith song.

if i had inside info and i didnt share it with all the people in the forum who are going batshiz crazy over finding out the lineup, im not sure i could consider myself a member of the forum any longer because i would be doing the opposite of helping everyone else.

I would tell my Mom, then put her on an Amtrak train and have her hold a loud phone conversation with someone regarding all the line-up info. I would at the very least tell her to name drop What stage during said convo. That ought to get the ball rolling

Only other name I've gotten from him is Street Sweeper Social Club. He's not covering the same topics he used to for the publication he works for (he used to cover tours/live events for them, so he was in contact with tons of bands/promoters/etc.), so I got next to nothing this year.

The other thing is quite honestly the hate you get for not saying anything is still less than what you would get for being wrong if peoples expectations get riled up. Ask Alex Young about that.
