Curious as to what the overall opinion is. I know some people are for it, others are against it. I'm in the former camp
Nov 26, 2008 18:53:30 GMT -5
The only strong argument I have in favor of it, is that it might clear up a big conflict for me.

No.

I suppose I would be OK with it were they not a headliner, but they almost certainly would have to be.

My vote yes. If it weren't for horrible headliners there is no way I would be able to rest up for the late nights! ;)

I'm gonna say yes as well. It would be easier for me to get my wife back on the farm.

I saw them with my girlfriend and was pleasantly surprised. They put on a good show, even threw in a Johnny Cash cover. I'd see 'em again.

nothing against 'em, they arent a bad band, but i voted no because i think we have better options in front of us. i may get smited but i'd rather have rock legends ac/dc than coldplay.

I'm not ashamed to admit I really like Coldplay. I prefer them to many previous headliners, even though they are very mainstream and a lot of their songs sound the same. As long as they steer clear of X+Y, then we're golden.

I vote yes, though I'm still holding out for something better.

I watched Coldplay on Austin City Limits last night. They brought out Michael Stipe as a special guest and did a few duets.

I thought it was amazing.

I couldn't say "no" more strongly for any other musical artist.

They wouldn't be in my top ten for headliners but I wouldn't cry about either.

I saw them in Atlanta for their Viva La Vida tour, and they put on one hell of a damn show!! I'm a big fan of theirs. Which leads to me knowing that there is no possible way for them to be at Roo '09... they're going to be in Europe before and after Roo, so unless they fly back to the states just to do Bonnaroo, and then fly back to Europe to continue with their tour, there is NO WAY that would happen.

I really don't have a problem with Coldplay, but I wouldn't want to spend a headliner spot on them.

Why not Coldplay? I think it would be pretty cool... better than two nights of effing Widespread.

Agreed! I feel like I've given WSP 10 chances and they just never do it for me. Doesn't help that '05 was my first year.

No, but if it were so, I'd be sleeping for latenight.

just saw them for the 2nd time last night.

They def work their butts off and put on a good show, and make it a unique experience. If they ever make it to roo (which i highly doubt), every1 should be open minded and check them out, they wouldn't be disappointed

They put on a good, sometimes great, show and would be a great big-crowd band. I'm still all for it

I saw them a few years ago with a girlfriend and I was bored to tears. Had she not been diggin it, I would have left.
Come to think of it though, if it hadn't been for her, I wouldn't have gone at all.

^ I really like Coldplay, but DMB is about 8,000 X better live.
