Anybody have an experience with a tent fan? I saw a few of them at weenie's today and was wondering if they actually work well.
I've a Coleman tent fan, runs on 4 D batts, also has a light. It's nice. I probably get an almost an extra hour of sleep in the morning because of it. You can't leave it on all night (batts will run down), but when the heat wakes you up in the morn, it's nice to be able to reach up and essentially "hit the snooze". Speaking of heat... here is something that I tried last year and helped so much. Get a couple of space/survival blankets. Essentially a thin mylar (like the balloons) sheet, you can get them here; www.countycomm.com/blanket.htm (trusted store, ordered from them before, been around for years), and you clip them to your tent with small binder clips. Figure out where the sun will be shining on your tent in the morn (HINT: from the south east) and put a sheet on that side of your tent. Later, move it to deflect the afternoon sun. HUGE difference, deflects ~90% of solar radiation. Bottom line you can sleep later in the morning, which is one of the best gifts you can give yourself at 'roo.
