That's what I've been saying about them too. I think people like the idea of them more than they actually like them
Just wondering what the appeal is to their music? I've tried listening to them multiple times just can't enjoy it. Its just noise to me.
I like Death Grips because it gets me so freaking pumped up. When I listen I can feel their anger and all the passion they pour into their music. It's not often music elicits such a powerful reaction from me like that and it's fun to indulge (please don't interpret this as I am a music cynic because that's the farthest thing from the truth).
That said, I think a lot of the praise they receive comes from their public persona as much as it does the music. They are very good and I will definitely see them but they're not changing the face of music as we know it or anything.
