11 months wait - you'd be in the month of December if you waited 11 months (since November would be over) For entry to the prestige - The track "Down by the Water" was nominated for Best Rock Song at the 54th Grammy Awards but lost to "Walk" by Foo Fighters. The first rejected - their first (and only so far) song nomination was rejected
The King is Dead was release on Jan 14th, and the Grammy nomination window is like Oct of two years prior, to Sep of one year prior. Not 11 months wait, but still towards the beginning of the nomination window.
edit - This would also fit the theme of line #1 being some sort of play on the band's name, and lines #2-3 being some sort of trivia. They just did a really good job of making them blend this time. Commence the flame war.
