It *might* work, but trust me...from personal experience: whatever you buy CHEAP you'll buy TWICE, whether it's tent stakes or shower curtain rings instead of carabiners.
The best way to attach tarps is w/various sizes of bungee cords. WallyWorld (and most all other places) sells assorted sizes for reasonable prices. I always carry extras to share w/others, but it's good to be prepared in case your neighbors aren't.
FYI: the holy trinity of 'Roo coolness: EZ UP + TARPS + PORTABLE FANS; the more, the merrier. Good luck!
